Dear Parents,

Welcome Back!! We are enjoying getting to know our students. Teachers are working tirelessly to build a supportive classroom community. We are thrilled to have volunteers in our building. Please contact your classroom teacher or the front office to complete the volunteer form. Just a reminder, that we do not have free lunch anymore this year. Please use this link to find information about nutrition services. Picture Day is Wednesday, August 17th. A form to order photos will come home in Thursday folders or you can use this LINK Mark your calendars for our Fun Run which will be held on Friday, September 16th.

A huge shout out to Misha Farris and The Mendenhall family for helping us get our building ready. Misha painted our town square that was damaged in the flood and the Mendenhall’s painted our Celebration Blocks.

As always please don’t hesitate to reach out. My email address is bkwaufle@dcsdk12.org and my cell phone number is 303-501-5547.

As you may know, the Douglas County School District is considering an initiative to help address funding challenges in our school district.  funding would be critical for us here at Legacy Point Elementary. Our staff is amazing and absolutely dedicated to our students and they deserve the pay that is more competitive with other school districts - this will help us retain the amazing teachers and support staff that work with your kids every day. Additional funding would also enable our school to continue to make necessary upgrades and repairs to provide your student with a comfortable and safe learning environment.

Please watch this video and share it on your own social media page(s) so others can understand how schools such as ours are funded. Talking to our taxpayers in Douglas County will take all of us working together!

LPE can earn money through the new program at King Soopers that links your regular King Soopers rewards card used for coupons and fuel points to the LPE account; when you swipe your card for your coupons and points at checkout, Legacy Point will receive a portion of your purchase back. The program does not cost additional money or time to use. The funds raised with this program are going toward updating classroom environments. We raised $879 during the 2021/2022 School year. Thank you for your continued support of our school!
