MY HERO Back to School Newsletter
Dear Friends,

As you make plans to return to school, or continue teaching online, please remember that MY HERO’s free media arts resources promote diversity, human rights and equality. Learning about the heroic journeys of well-known leaders like Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai, Congressman John Lewis, Katherine Johnson and Wangari Maathai, as well as diverse, unsung heroes from around the world, helps students understand that positive change in this challenging time is truly possible.

MY HERO’s ever-growing media library, lesson plans, resources and activities can be used in the classroom or online. Students are invited to create their own media projects honoring heroes in their communities and around the globe using MY HERO’s online digital storytelling tools.

The 2021 MY HERO International Film Festival Call for Entries continues. Numerous special awards and cash prizes will be given to students and professionals. We hope that students will use their creative energies to produce inspiring short hero films, songs, art and music. Explore our media arts resources to help them get started. Entrance fees are waived for student filmmakers.

With the uncertainty of the pandemic, online learning has become a gateway to the world. MY HERO is here to support you and your students, whether you are in the classroom or teaching from home.

Warm regards,

The MY HERO Team
