Many of our clients have questions about whether they can combine treatments during the same visit and the answer is yes for most types of treatments. In fact, when certain treatments are combined, the final results can be better than if you had done the treatments on separate days.

Examples of treatments that when done during the same session, in the same area, that often give better results than when done separately, include:

Sculptra followed by IPL Photofacial, Laser Genesis, Plasma Tightening or Microstamping
CoolSculpting followed by Radiofrequency +/or Ultrasonic Cavitation
Laser Tattoo Removal adding Profractional Laser
Profractional laser with Sculptra or PRP
PRP + threads for hair loss

Doing more than one treatment during one session is usually also more convenient for people who have busy schedules (and who doesn't?). When done on different parts of the body, some treatments can even be performed simultaneously, if two providers are available. You also only have to plan for one episode of social downtime rather than more if you're combining aggressive treatments on the same day.

Some of our treatments that can usually be performed simultaneously, schedule permitting, include:

most facial treatments including skincare, lasers, IPL & neuromodulators like Botox, and scalp injections (but not with dermal fillers or threads because we need to have you sitting up to get the best results).

Q: What is an astringent? An astringent is a water-based product used after cleansing to remove cosmetics and cleanser residue from the face.

Astringents were developed when most people cleaned their face with well water, which contained a high mineral content. The minerals would combine with homemade soap to create a film, sometimes called soap scum, which would deposit on the face. This soap residue was irritating to the skin.

In modern cleansers that contain chelating agents, soap scum is no longer a problem, yet astringents persist in the marketplace. Currently, astringents are largely used to remove sebum that may not have been removed with a mild cleanser. Many astringents now contain alcohol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and other exfoliating agents designed to remove excess skin sebum.

Q: What is a toner? A toner is a water-based skin-care product designed to remove cosmetics and cleanser residue, which is identical to the function of astringents. However, toners have become diversified such that they are available for all different skin types with different needs.
