The question we get asked the most: "Why don't the posts for Augusta Ranch show up in my Facebook newsfeed?"

The Facebook algorithm adjusts what you see in your newsfeed based on your interactions. Unless you engage with the content (like, comment, or share), there's a chance Facebook will prevent some of our posts from showing up in your newsfeed. Also, if you 'hide' any of our posts, Facebook will reduce your exposure to future content. We try to make the HOA content fun and useful to you (it's the only reason we post) and welcome your ideas and suggestions.
Fall Temperatures Coming Soon!

As we begin to enjoy the milder weather, your HOA would like to suggest to residents that now is the perfect time of the year to paint the exterior of your home, update your front yard landscape, check on the condition of address numbers, and perhaps do some general maintenance.

Painting Exterior of Your Home
Homeowners who did not paint their houses in 2014-2016 may need to consider painting now. We started the review process in 2020 but thought to place notices on hold due to the pandemic. Please look at the exterior of your home to see if the paint is peeling, discolored, or otherwise worn.

If it is, you will need to submit an architectural application for your choice of the approved colors. Find them on the Dunn Edwards website. Your project may begin once you receive approval.

Landscape Minimum Requirements

Each front yard is required to have (2) trees or (1) tree and (1) tree substitute, such as a cactus, Ocotillo, Bird of Paradise, or similar plant that is 3 feet or higher in height, and at least (6) 5-gallon or larger sized shrubs. If your property does not have the minimum requirement, please submit an architectural application with your choices for approval.
Address Numbers

Many homes in our neighborhood have address numbers that are unreadable from the street.

If you would like to keep your original address placard, please paint it the same color as it was originally.

If you can't determine the original color, look at other placards on your street. Each builder was different. When you would like to replace your address numbers, please submit an architectural application on the augustaranch.org website.
OKTOBERFEST
We're looking for vendors!
October 16, 2021 - 2:00-6:00 PM
Whom Can You Recommend?

We are actively seeking vendors to register and secure their spots at our well-attended Oktoberfest. Businesses, artists, community groups, and crafts vendors of all kinds are encouraged to join in the fun and display their wares.

The Augusta Ranch Oktoberfest is a family-friendly, free-admission community event that is open to the public. This event will feature live entertainment, face painting, photo booth, stein hold competitions, beer gardens, German-style food, and more. Here is a beautiful opportunity for vendors to share their specialties with an upscale community of over 2200 homes.

There are no fees involved, and the benefits include gaining visibility for neighborhood commerce and the potential of expanding customer bases. Vendors will each receive a page on the HOA events website to advertise goods and services, which will stay in place for an entire year. We look forward to working together to make Augusta Ranch Oktoberfest a happy, fun-filled experience for all. We welcome your recommendations!

City of Mesa - Watering Guides
Over half of the water we use at home is used outdoors. Watering efficiently is one of the easiest ways to save water. Proper watering will also keep your landscape plants healthy and beautiful throughout the year.

If you input some simple information about your landscape irrigation system into the City of Mesa's interactive water guide (linked below), it will tell you how often and how long to water your plants.

How to Volunteer in Augusta Ranch
You already know how personally rewarding community service can be, but maybe you're not sure how to volunteer. There are plenty of options. Some take a few minutes and others a bit longer, but they all help your community. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Ask to help with HOA community events — an ideal way to start volunteering for ages 14 and up. Along with a fun and satisfying experience, there is often free food involved.

  • Bring your fancy camera and take photos during community events. If we showcase them on social media and/or the Augusta Ranch websites, you will get full credit.

  • Surprise your neighbors: do yardwork for an older or ailing person; run errands; walk their dog; help with repairs.

  • Support quality education: help with homework; babysit during PTA meetings; coach a youth sports team; chaperone a field trip.

  • Keep us safe: accompany kids home from school; teach CPR (after getting certified); report suspicious activity; begin a neighborhood watch program.

  • Keep us clean: organize a routine walk of the streets and dispose of any trash seen or hiding in bushes; always pick up after your dog; report graffiti.

  • Offer your writing skills: create posts for social media; contribute to newsletter articles.

  • Ask about community projects where an extra set of hands might be useful.

  • Join an HOA committee involving architectural requests, collections, events, finances, golf course, landscaping, newsletter, security, or websites. At least one of these committees needs help at any given time.

  • Run for a position on the HOA board. Open board positions may become available at the Board's annual meeting in May.

You may be reluctant to volunteer because you're unsure about the time commitment or what your duties might be. No worries, the HOA board is available to explain the role of each volunteer position, whether it be for a particular event or a specific committee. There is no pressure to comply. If the fit feels right, we will be grateful for your help.

The first step is deciding to get involved. Think about what you can do to help out and, if you need guidance, don't hesitate to reach out to your friendly HOA board.
Next HOA Board Meeting

The next HOA board meeting will be held on Monday, August 16th at 6:30 PM, the Mesa Police Substation, 2430 S. Ellsworth, Mesa, AZ 85209.
