FOWH WOMEN'S HEALTH
ANNOUNCES
VISITOR RESTRICTIONS
January 10, 2022

Dear Patient of FOWH,

The latest wave of COVID-19 cases is again threatening to overwhelm the healthcare system. The omicron variant is highly contagious, even for vaccinated - and boosted - people. We have no choice but to restrict our visitor policies, similar to what Huntington Hospital has recently done.

Effective immediately, we must restrict visitor policies until further notice as follows:

  1. NO visitors allowed for any OB or Gyn appointment, non-stress test or ultrasound. This also means no children allowed.
  2. Exceptions include any patient with limited mobility or other medical condition where the visitor is needed to assist them.
  3. We are NOT asking patients or visitors if they are vaccinated. This policy applies to all patients including Primex Labs.
  4. All screening measures and precautions remain in place - e.g. written questionnaires, temp checking, mandatory masking, hand sanitizers, waiting room spacing and others.
HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL

At Huntington, all visitors need to show proof of full vaccination, including booster shot if booster-eligible, or a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours (home tests are not accepted). Please review their visitor rules carefully.

  • Birth partner and support person may not leave the hospital during the labor and birth process.

  • After the two-hour recover period, the patient, newborn and birth partner will be transferred to the Mother Baby Unit, and the support person will leave the hospital.
  • Birth partner should stay in the hospital at all times. Hospital visitation hours do not apply to the birth partner.
