July Newsletter

Message from President Dot Muir

I hope everyone enjoyed the Canada Day festivities and fireworks. Turned out to be a beautiful day.

Thank-you to everyone who came to the Center on July first.

A huge hug to all who worked the garage sale! Sales were fantastic, I think this was one of the best. Georgia and her crew did an excellent job, You all made it look so easy.... .

And a thank-you to all who contributed their items, without your participation these sales would not happen.

We had a good turnout for our crib tournament. So sorry it was cold, will be better next time. Last Thursday in July will be the next one and we are taking August off. Last Thursday in September will be the next one.

We are sad to see our secretary Faye resign her position. We do understand that some times things get to be too much and we need to look after ourselves. So with regret and a big thank-you to you Faye, your knowledge and input will be greatly missed by us all.

Discussions about the size of the Board are continuing. Do we need more director positions? Keep in mind that we have four unfilled positions out of 12 at the moment. We need a Fundraising person. Special Events, Facilities and Secretary positions are open.

Does anyone out there have a garden or fruit trees with an abundance you need to give away? The kitchen could use your fresh veggies and fruit. With the cost of groceries these days all donations would be very welcome. Our cook works very hard at preparing nutritious meals and tries to shop at the lowest cost, but as you all know things are so expensive these days it is a challenge for her to keep costs down. So any fresh veggies and fresh fruit donations would be greatly appreciated.

You all enjoy the sunshine, maybe summer has arrived!!
