Announcement from the Board of Trustees...
PICNIC IN THE PARK! PrairieUU IS TOGETHER IN PERSON!!!!!

Returning to Parker from New Orleans was a challenge with delayed flights, etc. Despite getting up at 5:00 am on Sunday to review emails from PrairieUU, I misread directions and went way off base. When I arrived after the service, all were enjoying the fun and fellowship allowed with the in person get together, that we have all craved for so long. Many thanks for the organizers, leaders and fun makers. A wonderful way to start the summer of healing. PrairieUU rocks!!

I am personally excited and looking forward to learning about how PrairieUU can move forward. We have more consultants to help us reflect, understand and move forward to become the loving community we have envisioned. This coming Sunday, Rev. Paula Cole Jones will deliver the message. She has been leading the UUA effort to define an 8th principal. In August, we have Rev. Carol McKinley and an additional UUA minister in Diversity. I am very appreciative of the PrairieUU members who strongly supported bringing in external experts to challenge and guide us.

I hope you will join us virtually for these discussions. Please note that there will be other in person meetings in July (25) and August (15). SEE YOU THERE!

In Covenant,
From the Ministeral Search Committee ...
The Minister Search Committee has been formed.

The Contract Minister Search Team has been appointed by the Board. We are fortunate to have a talented and committed group to do this search. The Board has appointed myself, Janet Stevens, to be the Team Lead.  Jan Cruz and Margaret DeLeon are the two representatives from the Committee on Shared Ministry (COSM). Timothy Bishop, John Kelty and Kyra Storojev responded to the request for Congregational Members to serve on this Team.

The Team will come up with a candidate(s) to recommend that the Board hire to start in September. A brief survey will be emailed to members shortly, to ascertain what characteristics you want in a minister and what roles you think they should focus on.
You can also share your thoughts with any of the Members above.

Contact: Melissa B

We will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8 with both an in-person and a virtual option. See the Full Schedule here. Plan to spend an hour prior to get-togethers reading and reflecting. We will be using a Reader's Guide recommended by Valarie's Revolutionary Love Project. I hope you will attend and participate as you are able. Please sign-up here!

In addition to supporting Prairie with your heart, you can purchase the book and support Prairie financially at the same time. Learn how here. Let Calisse help you set up Amazon Smile and the very profitable Shop with Scrips Program to purchase your book through Amazon and benefit Prairie by doing what you would be doing anyway! As you well know, every little bit helps! Please contact Calisse for help. She'll talk you through or even come visit you in-person to make it happen!

We invite all of our Prairie members and friends to join us. Please contact Melissa with any questions.

See No Stranger: A Memoir & Manifesto of Revolutionary Love. “This book is for anyone who feels breathless. Maybe moving through this world, in your body, is enough to make you feel constriction in your chest… Your breathlessness is a sign of your bravery. It means you are awake to what’s happening right now: The World is in transition.” She goes on to describe her philosophy of Revolutionary Love as “the choice to enter into wonder and labor for others, for opponents, and for ourselves in order to transform the world around us." Join me and let's read it together beside and holding each other. Valarie literally provides a compass to guide us. She has many opportunities to deepen our learning as well.

PrairieUU Garage/Bake Sale
Prairie Garage/Bake Sale

Hi PrairieUU Peeps!

Are you ready to contribute to a Prairie Garage/Bake Sale in a few months?

Thinking middle of August at Vivian Littlefield's home in Stonegate...thank you Vivian! This will be the 6th or 7th one over the years and I'm certain there's some STUFF you want to contribute!

Please find me, Brenda P, at 303-522-7988 by phone or text anytime with your interest and questions. I'll need some helpers in the days beforehand to help sort and price and set up. And I'll need several helpers in shifts during the Friday and Saturday Sale. Sunday is also a big day as I want to make sure to get everything out of Vivian's garage AFTER the sale, so someone willing to help that has an open bed truck is appreciated (and some muscles).

I have a cool Lemonade Stand 'prop' if there is a kiddo or two, with a parent, that would like to partake in keeping everyone cool and refreshed, including our shoppers.

P.S. if you have a large item you'd like sold with proceeds going to Prairie, let me know. I can possibly help.

Again, Brenda P at 303-522-7988. This is really something to look forward to!! Thanks ya'll.

Carpet Cleaning Proceeds Go to PrairieUU’s Duke Scholarship Fund

Long-term PrairieUU member Kimberly Pratt has graciously offered her company’s carpet cleaning services and will donate 100% of carpet cleaning proceeds to PrairieUU’s Duke Scholarship Fund in memory of Allen Duke. Here is how you can get your carpets cleaned and also help fund scholarships for high school summer camp and other PrairieUU youth outings. Phone Kimberly at (303) 718-3959, mention you are with Prairie and set up a carpet cleaning appointment. After your carpets are cleaned, Kimberly will give you an invoice. Simply cut and send a check to Prairie specifying “Duke Scholarship Fund”, or go to the Prairie website and make a donation for the amount of the invoice.
