PUPPET PLAY THERAPY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

REQUIREMENTS:        Licensed Mental Health Provider in any state
                                  Six participants needed to begin the program

GOAL: Increase knowledge and skills in the use of puppet play therapy 
 
EXPECTATIONS:
 
-Attend 15 hours of trainings listed
-Participate in 12 hours group of supervision
-Provide case presentation using video of live session during supervision
-Active participation in group discussions, provide feedback and support to peers
-Complete reading assignments prior to supervision
-Final project: Puppet Play Therapy Plan
Each session is: 6-9:30 pm Eastern Standard Time
3 hours each, for total of 15 CE Hours

Puppet Play in Clinical Practice, How to Use Puppets and Dolls to Heal the Complex Wounds of Trauma
Part I - July 21, 6-9:30 pm

Puppet Play for Anger Management with Children and Adolescents: A Force for Positive Change
August 23, 6-9:30 pm

Grief and Loss: Puppet Play Therapy to Address the Many Stages of Grief
September 23, 6-9:30 pm


If you have already taken the 5 trainings listed above with CBPS, there is no need to retake them. Proof of attended is needed.

SUPERVISION:

After successful completion of group supervision, a certificate with 15 hours CE hours and 12 group supervision hours will be awarded. You must first complete 15 hours of puppet training as listed above, in order to participate in the supervision group. The supervision group will meet for the opening on Wednesday, September 29, 6-9:30 pm, then on Mondays, 6-8:30 pm, on 10/11, 11/1, 11/8, 11/22 (group input regarding dates is welcome a the opening session).

Participants may be absent for no more than one session due to unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, make-up assignments will be required. Further details for make-up sessions will be provided by the supervisor. 

COST$1,323.00(includes didactic and group supervision) paid in full with registration.

Presenter: Joanne Vizzini, Ph.D., LCPC
Graduate in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola Univ., MD, who supervised and taught clinical interns there for 14 yrs. She has presented about puppets in national & international venues for 40 yrs. She loves ALL ages and is trained in psychodrama, spirituality, substance abuse, codependency, LD/ADHD, and EMDR. Publications include a chapter, “…Puppet Play Therapy for Adults,” (2018). Her YouTube channel features raps about body safety for parents and children. Dr. V’s private practice in Columbia, MD services adults, teens and children.

Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars (CBPS) is approved by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to sponsor Category I continuing education programs. Social Work Boards in most states accept this approval status. 

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS
Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars (CBPS) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5763. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. CBPS is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. 

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS 
Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars (CBPS) is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists to offer professional development for school Psychologists, provider #1067. CBPS maintains responsibility for the program. 

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGISTS  
The Maryland and Washington, DC Boards of Psychology Examiners Recognizes national Association of School Psychologist approval status with CBPS and grants CE hours to clinical psychologists in Maryland and Washington, DC.
