God's Acre MCC ~ Weekly Newsletter
21st June 2021
Greetings!
Good morning,

Yesterday I was preaching about being in a boat with Jesus, just like the disciples were. I wonder if you can actually think about that for a moment; I asked you to imagine if you were in the boat, would you feel safe simply because He was there?

This is, of course, a rhetorical question and probably will roll around your head for a little while. I also talked about sailing on the sea of life; we’ve all been enduring a storm called Covid; things are slowly improving however, we still need to be careful, and sensible, as not everybody has been vaccinated yet.
I really want people to get back to church as safely as possible; as Jesus taught us, “When two or three people are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them”.

We will be holding in-person worship again, with reduce numbers, from 11th July 2021, and we will be using a fair and equitable system to make sure everybody has a chance to come to church in person. If you read further down, you will find out what to expect, when you register for your seat & return to in-person worship.
We will have all the equipment that we need, so that we can have a safe service. Of course, it won’t be quite the same because there won’t be as many people in our sanctuary, but we will eventually return to a new normal, when it’s safe to do so.

We’re making a start and I’m looking forward to that. The COVID storm has tested our faith; we’ve all faced storms and troubles during these last 15 months. It’s not what any of us wanted but, as Christians, we lean into our God who gives us the strength to all that we need to do, in our lives and help others in their life.

I would be grateful for you all to pray for me and the volunteers, who will make this possible, as things in churches don’t happen on their own!

I have faith in God, and in you, to help me make this happen, Amen

In Christ

Rev. Janice

What To Expect When You Return To Church

Things will look, & feel, a little different when we return to in-person worship; here's some of the things to expect:

* At first, seats will be limited & you will need to REGISTER ONLINE, to reserve a seat for you / your household

* The registration link will be made available on our Facebook Page, and will remain open whilst seats are available; once the limit is reached, the link will no longer be available

* The sanctuary door will open at 10:45am; please remain in your car, or in the parking lot until you are asked to come in & are ushered to your seat

*We are asking everyone to bring & wear a mask, whilst they are in the sanctuary, for the duration of the service, and the safety of all

*If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. We do ask that you wear a face mask - a face shield will not be acceptable on its own

* We will not be singing during the service, but will listen to music as appropriate

* We will be taking temperatures at the door, before you come in; if you feel at all unwell, and have a reserved seat, please do not come to church, but let us know so that we can give that seat to someone else

* Chairs will be socially distanced & you may not be sitting in the same place as you did before the pandemic; some chairs will be taped off & we ask that you do not remove the tape, move the chairs etc.

* You will be handed a packet with single communion cup / wafer & hand wipe, for your use during communion; we will no longer be giving out communion as we did before

* An offering plate will be at the entrance, so that you can place your offering in there, as you enter or exit the building; if you prefer, you may still give online via our donate button

* Once you have been shown to your seat, we ask that you remain there until the end of service, when you will be guided out in turn

* We will still be recording our services, so there will be space set aside for the camera

We STILL Need Some Things to Re-Open

There are still some things we need; if you are able to help us by donating any of the items below, please let us know.

Donations Still Needed:
Anti-Bacterial Spray | Anti-Bacterial Wipes | Sanitizing Hand Gel | Tissues | Purified Water

If you are able to donate any of these items, please let us know; we can arrange for you to drop off.

Volunteers Needed - 26th June 2021:
If you are able to offer some time, to help us deep clean, sanitize & prepare our church, please let us know. We need volunteers between the times shown below:

26th - 10am to 2pm

Let us know when YOU can help & we will allocate you a slot. Numbers will be limited inside & outside the building.
Sadly, we are still not bringing in enough funds each week, to meet our budget. We are asking for your help.

If you haven't already done so, or if it's not your custom to support your church financially, please consider giving so that we can keep the church building running AND afford to reopen.

It's very easy to donate online - whether it's weekly or monthly, $5 or $1,000, EVERY $$$ really does make a huge impact & and big difference to our budget.

You can quickly and easily donate online, by clicking on the button below; online donations are quick, easy & save time.

You can also mail in a check, payable to God's Acre MCC, to our PO Box mailing address.
