The School Selection process allows students currently in pre-kindergarten through 11th grade to apply to attend any school for the 2025-2026 school year with available space other than their catchment school. A catchment school is the school that connects to your family’s home address, so you don’t have to apply. Learn more about your child's school options and how families can participate today. The application will close on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 11:59pm

Your Voice Matters: Reviewing Board Policy 248 on Harassment and Discrimination
Board Policy 248, Harassment and Discrimination - Students, is up for review before the Board of Education. Federal, state, and local laws require that the District provide an equal opportunity for all students to achieve their maximum potential through the programs and activities offered in schools without discrimination, including harassment which is a form of discrimination, on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, national origin, marital status, pregnancy, socio-economic status, or handicap/disability. The purpose of Policy 248 is to require the District to maintain an educational environment in which harassment and discrimination in any form are not tolerated.
Revisions to the policy include the removal of definitions, examples and procedural content to the Administrative Procedures that accompany this policy.

The School District of Philadelphia wants to hear from students about their school experiences. We use the Student Well-Being Survey (SWBS) to help us understand how our school environment affects them.
The SWBS is a short, 5-minute survey given three times a year to students in grades 3-12. It asks about their use of social and emotional skills, how they feel at school, and their relationships with classmates and teachers. All answers are private and not for evaluating individual needs.
For more information, please visit the Student Well-Being Survey webpage.
