CBPA Submits Letter of Opposition to AB 1000 - A De Facto Ban on New Warehouses

CA Assembly Bill 1000, introduced by Assemblymember Reyes (D-Colton), bans new warehouse projects over 100,000 s.f. within 1,000 feet of a "sensitive" receptor. A de facto ban on warehouses will kill new housing and jobs reliant on these projects.

AB 1000 has been assigned to both the Assembly Natural Resources and Assembly Local Government Committees. As part of a coalition of over a dozen business groups, CBPA has submitted a letter of opposition to the bill.

If you or your company would like to submit a formal letter to the Legislature, a template and instructions on how to do so have been provided.

AB 1748 Amended To Address Warehouses

CA Assembly Bill 1748, introduced by Assemblymember James Ramos (D-San Bernardino), has been amended to address warehouses. The bill focuses on the Inland Empire, encouraging the adoption of "Good Neighbor Policies" that work best for each community.

By preserving local control, the bill creates and preserves jobs by allowing local governments and the logistics industry to grow and continue to modernize. CBPA has taken a position in support of AB 1748.

Since December 2009, shortly after the end of the Great Recession, the broad industry category “Transportation and Warehousing” has generated 1 of every 4 new jobs in the Inland Empire, that’s more than 145,000 jobs.
