Those of us who have lived in the area for the last 15 years remember the Great Recession was particularly harsh on the Inland Empire. The region’s recovery from the effects of that downturn has been driven largely by its evolution into a Logistics hub, referred to by some as the world’s largest distribution center.
Since December 2009, shortly after the end of the Great Recession, the broad industry category “Transportation and Warehousing” has generated 1 of every 4 new jobs in the Inland Empire, that’s more than 145,000 jobs.
