COVID-19 has taken many iterations over the past year and a half. The mortal threat it has posed prompted the imposition of necessary precautions and adjustments to our accustomed lifestyle. Just as most of those precautions were lifted mid-June, the "Delta Variant" emerged; a mutation which has seen the hospitalization and deaths of the unvaccinated and proven relentless in breaking through the immunity of vaccinated, albeit with less severe results. This week's "Online Briefing for Faith Leaders," hosted by the San Francisco Interfaith Council, welcomes California Department of Public Health Lead COVID Epidemiologist Elana Silver who will offer an explanation of the "Delta Variant," the State's present guidance related to the variant, and specific guidance for houses of worship and religious institutions.
