WAA GA Aircraft Ownership Symposium...Save the Date!
The WAA is planning a GA Aircraft Ownership Symposium on Saturday, September 18 and expert speakers will discuss important topics to assist GA pilots in finding, purchasing and owning the right airplane for you. We will also explore legal considerations, insurance and ownership accounting.

There is high demand in this market segment and we have received inquiries from pilots
wanting to learn more about the process of sourcing and purchasing an aircraft. There are many factors to consider and hearing Tips, Tricks, Do's and Don'ts can be valuable in the exploratory stage.

The time of the event and registration information will be announced in August and will be convenient to those attending the US Aircraft Expo at Million Air White Plains.
Airport Operations Update
The Westchester County Airport was under an FAA Part 139 Certification Safety Inspection over the past three months and has successfully passed with flying colors. This is due to the skilled folks at the FBOs who cooperated and worked closely with our Airport Operations and Maintenance Teams.
We are pleased to report that our contractor has accelerated all work associated with the Spent Aircraft Deicing Fluid Collection System Reconstruction Project. We can expect an earlier opening to our Main Street...Taxiway Alpha. An Airport Bulletin will be released once exact dates are known, including future construction changes to the project.

The Hudson Valley Honor Flight is thrilled to announce that missions to honor veterans will resume this fall.

On Course Approved

Long-time WAA member Joe Walonoski receives a memorable send off from the PepsiCo Flight Department on July 21.

Joe started working at HPN in 1979 for Panorama Flight Service. From 1984 to 2002, he worked for Olin Corporation flying a Hawker 125-700, a Challenger 600 and 601 and a Citation X until the flight department was closed.

He has been with PepsiCo since 2002 and is the Operations Manager where he flies the Challenger 604 and Bombardier Global 5000. If you are not good with crunching numbers in your head, I'll do the math for you. That's 42 years on the field!

He officially retires on July 31 and will continue to travel and fly his Beechcraft Baron with his wife.
