The Vermont Arts Council Board welcomes newly appointed chair Rebecca McMeekin (Braintree) and vice-chair Greg Paus (Hyde Park), as well as new trustee Mark Foley (Rutland). Arts Council Debuts Vermont Made Podcast
We're sharing the fruits of local talent from the Green Mountain State in our new podcast Vermont Made debuting September 1. Each episode features one artist, craftsperson, designer, specialty food producer, or other Vermont creative who will share the story behind one thing they've made. Cross-Sector Collaborations Call for Creatives
The CreateVT Action Plan identifies cross sector collaborations as a key strategy for a thriving, creative Vermont. Here’s a great example of a collaboration between the arts and outdoor recreation: the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village has issued a call for teaching artists to help animate the museum’s Alexander Twilight Educational Trail. RFP for Advocacy Services
The Vermont Creative Network seeks proposals from firms to provide advocacy services to advance the strategic priorities of the CreateVT Action Plan for the upcoming 2021-2022 legislative session. Deadline for proposals: August 6, 2021. Learn more.
Council Grant Opportunities
For Organizations
The Vermont Covid-19 Cultural Recovery Grant Program is a partnership between Vermont Humanities and the Vermont Arts Council to provide support to arts and humanities organizations facing financial hardship due to the pandemic. Organizations can also apply for the NEA's American Rescue Plan Grants.

The Art in State Buildings Program is accepting applications from Vermont artists for two new public art commissions, one for the John Zampieri State Office Building in Burlington and one for a new recovery residence at the Department of Mental Health in Essex.

River Arts
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, River Arts is based in Morrisville and focused on enriching the community through the arts. Its core value is “Arts for Everyone,” but the isolation and impact of Covid shutdowns on those of different races, gender expressions, and financial means revealed ways that inclusivity could be expanded. Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival
MNFF takes pride in its sole focus: promoting the work of first- and second-time filmmakers. Its 6th annual Festival had to move online in August 2020, but MNFF remained steadfastly dedicated to its mission of promoting new filmmakers’ work and were able to successfully showcase over 60 films. The ACCD's Vermont Economic Recovery Bridge Grant has expanded its eligibility to businesses that have received prior state or federal aid.
