New Year, New Market?
The new year usually brings new optimism about what the next 365 days has in store for us, and for a lot of people, that includes real estate. Some are hopeful for a market decline giving them more buying power, while other cross their fingers for continued growth so they can capitalize on a strong sellers market. Humboldt has seen unprecedented growth over the past 20 months and if you combine that with the current lack of inventory, it seems as though this stiff sellers market is sticking around for the foreseeable future. Given our lack of new construction, we're having a hard time keeping up with the demand from people who wish to make the Redwood Coast their home, while locals are still looking to put down some permanent roots. McKinleyville and Fortuna have the most new construction, but not to the scale that will correct our local market, Arcata's infill project should help, but we'd need similar sized projects from all our major cities in order to have a lasting impact on our market. So heres to hoping! If you have any questions or would like to know more about new construction please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime!
