As your local, trusted healthcare facility for over 90 years, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital remains focused on bringing new services, treatments and technology to meet the needs of the community and keep patients close to home for their medical care.
Fostoria Community Hospital now offers wound care services, which treats individuals with hard-to-heal wounds, caused by diabetes, poor circulation, pressure sores or other medical problems. Additionally, the hospital expanded its behavioral health services to offer child and adolescent therapy. ProMedica Physicians Behavioral Health treats individuals between the ages of five and 21 who are diagnosed with a variety of conditions, such as anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorder and oppositional defiance disorder, in addition to treating adults.
The hospital also recently acquired a Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System device that helps clinical staff treat patients who present to the emergency department with sudden cardiac arrest. This device takes strain off clinical team members by providing consistent, effective and uninterrupted CPR on the patient, allowing medical staff to focus on delivering other patient care tactics, including defibrillation, intubation, IV placement and, if needed, transportation.
In addition to bringing these new services to the community, Fostoria Community Hospital has continued strong community partnerships. This year, the hospital partnered with the Geary YMCA for Trail Trekkers, a free community walking group, and free outdoor workout classes on the hospital grounds. They also provided diabetes education to the community through Cooking with the Chef, a free virtual cooking class.
