Aspire Hosts Teacher Field Trips

Aspire recently hosted our first Teacher Field Trip which was focused on the IT field. This was the first of three field trips Aspire will be offering area teachers this summer. High school and middle school teachers from Johnson County and southern Indianapolis have the opportunity to take VIP tours though our area businesses to learn more about the careers available to their students, right here in Johnson County. Spots are still available for the Manufacturing and Healthcare/Life Sciences tours.

Property Spotlight: Located in Indy South Logistics Park

Building B in the Indy South Logistics Park is currently under construction. Located just south of County Line Road on Graham Road, it has easy access to I-65 and is well suited for both distribution and light manufacturing. This location is perfect for a growing company interested in locating to or expanding within Johnson County. Aspire’s sites and building database was built in partnership with T&W Design & Build. We are grateful for their support in offering this tool.

Johnson County Spends $1 Million to Boost Broadband

JCFiber, a subsidiary of JCREMC, received $1.3 million to help close the rural and urban digital divide. The County granted the funds as part of the $30.7 million it received from federal American Rescue Plan Act. Aspire is an ardent supporter of expanding broadband funding and coverage throughout our county and state.

Indiana’s First Global Economic Summit

Aspire staff joined business and government leaders from more than 30 countries at Indiana’s inaugural Global Economic Summit in May. Discussion centered around innovation and global economic drivers.

We were inspired by the sentiments around building relationship density to foster new business start-ups, and expanding the focus of entrepreneurism from just tech to other industries making an impact. We also discussed improving quality of place, staying ahead of national security, and keeping the pedal to the floor on innovation, all of which is necessary to compete in the global market, and beat China. Importantly, the summit affirmed the principles and goals within Aspire’s economic strategic plan.
