DEER RUTTING SEASON

It is rutting season and the deer can get aggressive. One neighborhood dog was charged and wounded but was lucky and is fine. Be aware of deer, especially if you have dogs.
CHIMNEY FIRES !!
There has already been one chimney fire in Elk Meadows. Please keep your chimneys clean to prevent fires and so Santa doesn’t get burned! Please read in the link below about the risk of chimney fires, how to prevent them, and what to do if you have one.

INTERNET FIBER OPTICS
Thank you to Scott Layton and Bill Palace for forming the Internet Committee to research better internet service. We have another chance to get fiber optics. Please watch for an email this month from the HOA about what we need to do. This will be similar to what homeowners did last year in order to qualify.

~ ~ ~ IMPORTANT UPDATE ~ ~ ~
COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS
TODAY'S UPDATE
Colorado health officials said last Wednesday they are investigating a potential second case of a new and potentially more infectious strain of Covid-19. Please refer to the website for updated information.
https://covid19.colorado.gov

COVID cases are on the rise nationwide as well as Colorado. We are now in the second major wave of Covid cases with a 7-day average of 2006 new confirmed cases per day of the virus. There has been a total of 3958 deaths. A total of 343,435 cases have been reported so far in Colorado with a total of 2,166,012 people have been tested and 18,747 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Colorado. This is a HUGE increase from Oct 30 of 1503 new cases that day, 103,000 cases, and 2295 deaths.

This is real folks and it is incredibly contagious. Stay safe and keep your family and friends safe. As difficult as it is, especially during the holidays, gatherings of more than a few people is only going to put you more at risk.
The vaccine is coming so please check this link to find out more about receiving it.

Also, PLEASE check on your neighbors. If they are ill make sure they are getting the help they need. A simple phone call or a bag of groceries dropped at their doorstep is a huge help for many people at this time. If you go to the store offer to pick up needed items for those people that are at risk or have family members at risk.

Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; washing every finger thoroughly as well as top and bottom your your hands.
WE CAN BEAT THIS
BUT WE ALL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO
MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
Please remember social distancing....it works!
It is our only chance at containing this dreaded disease!!
STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!!

And remember Help your Neighbors and Friends and even New Neighbors you may not know yet!!
Check on them to see if they need errands run and may not feel well enough to do it themselves.
