Planting for our wildlife

Friends of Lower Field River were busy in August, planting 450 local native seedlings where Aleppo Pine Trees have recently been removed.

The new seedlings will eventually produce a food source for the Yellow tailed Black Cockatoo.

Frogs and lizards and other ground dwelling fauna are commonly found in the habitat created by the new plantings.

Creekline plants and woodland species feature in the new planting area with the diversity in species being the key to attracting more wildlife.
