MONDAY MEMO
In the fun family soccer game Friday night: 7th grader Celia tried to dribble past parent Cath Kane '85 (in her vintage Riverside soccer jersey), while 7th grader Kellan waits for the pass, and his dad Lucas Bristol and teacher Nathan are ready to help with defense.
Greetings!

Please read carefully the information below about our skating and skiing programs, it can be confusing and deadlines are upon us.

Happy Monday,
Nelia
NOTES
SKATING & GYMNASTICS and SKIING & RIDING
NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER
During these months the K-8th grades will go skating, three houses each Friday, the other house will go to Kingdom Gymnastics. So it will be helpful to know which house your child is in (ask them!): Aqua, Caelum, Ignis, or Terra. Rental skates will be available at a small charge to your school store account, your child will simply need to know their shoe size. On the half days the plans are a bit different: Nov. 18 (also 6-8th Bio Fair in the morning) K-5th will go skating while older students do something special on campus, and on Dec 16 (also K-8th grade Mythology Day) 6-8th will go skating while younger students do something special on campus before the vacation. Note, the information at the very bottom of the Memo about skating lessons are an optional extra community activity, unrelated to Riverside's skating program.

JANUARY AND FEBRUARY
K-8th grade downhill skiing/riding or cross-country skiing. The logistics for these programs are intense, so we need complete information about your child on the forms linked below by the end of today.
RACE BACK TO SCHOOL
Pledge lists and money are due today. Please also add mailing address information for each of your donors so that we can send them a tax donation letter. If you turned it in already, you can email that information to parent Madeleine Balcom or Mel Finn, who will be organizing lists and helping with thank you notes.
ATTENDANCE
When students are going to be absent from school, please email Krystal (who tracks attendance for all of us) and their teacher/advisor (who can then prepare to offer any support needed).
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED
We are in need of more substitute teachers, if you'd be willing to help out in a classroom, even for only a few hours, please email Krystal. You can tell her your preferences: only with advanced notice, certain age groups, particular subject areas, etc. You can choose to volunteer your time or be paid.

HALLOWEEN AT RIVERSIDE
The Student Council will be hosting a halloween party/haunted house/dance at Riverside this Friday, October 28 with an underwater theme. The Haunted House and Party will take place in the house and the barn from 5:15-6:45 for all students. 6-8th graders are welcome to stay for a dance from 7:00-9:00 pm.

School day festivities will happen on Monday, October 31. That day students are encouraged to wear costumes, which they will show off in an all-school assembly that morning. There will surely be extra candy and treats around school on Halloween, if you have any concerns about how much your child eats, please work with them directly to set your expectations. Candy is also allowed for sharing on the day after halloween, but beyond Tuesday, November 1 we ask that families support us going back to a culture of healthier snacks at school.

She has taken some students on as clients and meets with them during the school day, and others just meet with her during the day to chat or let off steam.
