Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Today, it commemorates African American freedom and achievement while it also encourages continuous self-development. 

This year, FIU will offer programming and activities in observance of Juneteenth from June 14-19.

Culminating the week's festivities, on Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., join us for our inaugural Juneteenth Freedom Day celebration at the Earlene and Albert Dotson Pavilion Lawn (MARC building at MMC). Learn more and register for this event today!
