Faith & Environment Weekly Topic:

Ocean and marine Life:
Is your impact negative or positive?

Ways to have a Positive Impact:
  • Retrieve all fishing tackle, even if it is tangled or broken. Fishing gear can entangle or injure seabirds, turtles, dolphins, manatees – or even divers and swimmers.
  • Be aware that there is life under water! Boat propellers can injure sea turtles, dolphins, manatees and whales.
  • When you haul your boat out, rinse your boat on the spot to remove hitchhiking plants and organisms and help prevent the spread of harmful invasive species.
  • When snorkeling and diving, do not touch, break, stand on, or attempt to collect coral or other marine organisms.
Take only pictures and leave only bubbles.

"Images of Jesus"

Faith United is hosting a Community Art Exhibit from Sept 19 to Nov 14 in conjunction with the upcoming Fall sermon series "Questioning Jesus". The Exhibit will be located in the hallway from the circle driveway entrance to the Gathering area.

We are soliciting artwork from both the local art community and the congregation. You can submit an existing image of Jesus that was given to you or you can submit a new or existing creation of your own. Images of Jesus include any image or metaphor that has meaning to you. In the Bible there are many images of Jesus including mother, son, child, baby, friend, teacher, king, way, helper, healer, light, rock, leader, prophet, servant, miracle-worker, story-teller, savior, God, and more.

The office will be accepting your images Sept 1-15 on Mondays-Fridays from 9am-4pm or Wednesdays 9am-6pm. Late submissions will be accepted up to Oct 13. You may include a short description of the significance of your piece. All artwork will be recorded and ready for pick up at the end of the show. In addition, we are having a silent auction for those artists that are willing to donate their work. All proceeds will benefit the Hartville Migrant Ministry. For more information contact dbenzing@aol.com.
Cokesbury is a great resource to purchase Bibles, devotionals, gifts & more! Please use this link when ordering. The church receives credit & a rebate from your purchases.
Order gift cards year round from The Youth Mission Team. Part of each order benefits the Youth Mission Fund. Check out this listing of available gift cards and contact the church office for more information.
