Donations for Monona Hills Apartment Fires

The Neighbors across the street had an apartment fire. Several clients have asked how they can support the residents. Here is what I found out.

GIFT CARDS NEEDED FOR DISPLACED MONONA HILLS RESIDENTS

Early Saturday morning there was a major fire at the Monona Hills apartments and all of the residents have been displaced. Many residents fled with just the pajamas on their back leaving behind their purse, wallet, phone, medications, and much more. NewBridge is working alongside the Meridian Group and the American Red Cross at an emergency shelter at St. Stephen’s Church to provide services.

The shelter currently has food, bedding, temporary clothing, toiletries, and other very basic essentials. However, NewBridge is working with residents to connect them with additional resources.

Residents are in need of gift cards and gas cards to cover their other needs.

Community members wishing to support the displaced residents can provide various gift cards (Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Kwik Trip, etc) in small increments of $25 would be much appreciated.


Gift cards can be dropped at the following locations:

Book Club Starts

April 16th

2:30pm-4:30pm

No need to have read the book, just obtain it by April 16th! I really enjoyed listening to it via Audible, I also have a hard copy at the office for referencing. We will be going through the book chapter by chapter to really learn, process and work the system being presented in the book. At our first meeting we will discuss and plan out how we will review the book together. Bring a snack or drink to share if you would like. We will also be offering the book club via zoom. Please register if you plan on zooming in.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention

Thursday,

TCAFP uses primarily the Sun style of Tai Chi with it’s higher stance for joint protection and tension release and step through for increased movement. Arthritis pain makes us want to stop moving, yet ironically, movement helps reduce the pain of arthritis. Recommended by the CDC, and the Arthritis Foundation for relief from Arthritis and for fall prevention.

In search of another way to connect with your body? Come stimulate, align, and release your bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments! This modality starts at the toes and works to the top of the head. You will need a set of balls if you are zooming in. If you come into the studio all equipment will be provided! If you have never done a class. Yoni Steaming at Balancing Meridians

Why would you ever want to steam and why Yoni?


Yoni is an ancient Sanskrit word- representing the vulva. In Hinduism it's a sign of generative power and that symbolizes the goddess Shakti

When not to steam



  • menstruating
  • ovulation if trying to conceive
  • Pregnant or think you may be pregnant
  • Open sores, and/or herpes
  • Active internal infection of cervical, uterus, and/or vagina with fever
  • If you have an IUD (some say you can for 5-10mins a session)



Yoni Steams are recommended every 2 weeks or longer between steams.


If you are still cycling, we recommend before and after cycles. If you haven't gotten a cycle, or no longer get a cycle or never had one. Steaming is amazing, but your flora is also amazing. If you steam too often your flora will become off balanced. Please don't steam closer then 2 weeks apart or longer. Seasonal steaming is also very beneficial. If you're not sure when to steam, just ask.
