Dear Students and Colleagues,

It is wonderful to see students back on campus and feel the energy and excitement of the start of a new school year. I want to thank the business school’s faculty and staff for their extra efforts and flexibility to make our students’ transition to campus as smooth as possible. SCHOOL NEWS
The weekend before classes started, a graduate student Orientation and an undergraduate and transfer student Orientation were held. It was nice to meet so many new Panthers!
FACULTY AND STAFF NEWS
We are delighted to welcome two new full-time faculty members and one part-time faculty member this fall. 
Raghida Abdallah Yassine, PhD, assistant professor of human resources and management. Dr. Yassine received her doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was the recipient of the MuKeun Lee Dissertation Research Scholarship in 2019 and the Thelma (Jamie) and Orin Hove Scholarship in 2018. She also holds a master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS in computer science from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Previously, Dr. Yassine was a visiting assistant professor at Suliman S. Olayan School of Business at AUB. She has also worked as a human resources practitioner.
Felisha Fret, assistant professor of accounting. Fret holds a BBA in accounting and an MS in taxation from Hofstra University. She is in the process of completing her DBA at the University of Scranton and is considered ABD. As an undergraduate and graduate student, she assisted in various research activities and curriculum development. Fret began her career in the audit department at Deloitte and then Margolin, Winer and Evens. Her research interests include auditing, taxation, business ethics and issues in accounting education. 
Lauren Gaglio-Crescione ’11, adjunct professor of marketing. Lauren is the integrated marketing manager at Henry Schein, a Fortune 500 global healthcare company. She runs a team that oversees and assists with social media strategy for all of Henry Schein’s entities and partners, working with 50-plus groups globally. She has prior experience as the marketing and communications director of Long Island University, as well as extensive background in luxury retail management. Gaglio-Crescione has also taught marketing and business classes as an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College and LIU Brooklyn. She holds an MBA in marketing from Long Island University and a BS in business and marketing from Adelphi.
Professor and chair of decision sciences and marketing Zhimin Huang, PhD’s co-authored paper “Exploring the Trend of COVID-19 Treatment Efficiency in Chinese Provinces in 2020 by Using DEA and Regression Analysis” has been published in Advances in Business and Management Forecasting, vol. 14, pp. 119-148.
 
Assistant professor of decision sciences and marketing Eunji Lim, PhD’s article "Simulation-Based Optimization for Convex Functions Over Discrete Sets With Noisy Constraints" was accepted for publication in the International Journal of Statistics and Probability.
 
Laura Riker will be our new director of internships. Congratulations, Laura!

Administrative Assistant Judy Greiner has completed the Diversity Certificate Program 2.0 workshop.
STUDENT NEWS
Carla Crump, Jonay Jackson, Anthony Squillacioti and Danelya Zholdasbekova participated in a panel discussion at the New Student Orientation that took place on August 29. Thank you to these dedicated Panthers!
ALUMNI NEWS
Bharrat Sookdeo '21 (finance) is now employed as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
 
Louis Marino '15, MBA '16, was promoted to audit manager at Grant Thornton.
