El Dorado Blvd
Tree Planting Event on Saturday, April 1
HOUSTON - Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make District E residents aware Trees For Houston will be hosting a Tree Planting Event on Saturday, April 1 at 8:45 a.m. along El Dorado Blvd. Mayor Pro Tem Martin is excited for this event to take place as it will begin to replace over 200 trees removed during the El Dorado Blvd. Expansion Project, which was completed by Harris County Precinct 2 earlier this year.

The District E Office appreciates the Bay Oaks Community Association for their patience and participation in this process while the District E Office worked with Trees For Houston to identify the best locations to plant trees along this area so as not to interfere with public utilities while also beautifying the community. This is just the first, in a series of tree planting events taking place along El Dorado Blvd over this year. It is Mayor Pro Tem Martin’s goal to replant over 400 trees along this roadway, re-stablishing the tree buffer with native species including American Beauty Berry, Buttonbush, Turk’s Cap, Wax Myrtle, Pecan, Red Maple, Red Mulberry, River Birch, Sugarberry, Sweetgum, Elm, Oak, and Pine Trees.

The District E office encourages volunteers of all ages to participate in this event on Saturday, anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver. Parking will be located at the back of the H-E-B on 3501 Clear Lake City Blvd., Houston, TX 77059. Please click here to register as a volunteer.
