In this Season of Creation, the CGS Green Team is 'Re-Forming'

As Episcopalians we celebrate several church seasons every year—Advent, Lent, Easter... Each season has one or more special liturgical elements. These differences help direct the flow of our worship and draw us closer to the season's theme. For example, in Easter (a time of redemption,) we leave out confession. In Advent we light candles and look to Christ as our light in the darkness.
This year, we join the wider church to introduce the "Season of Creation" which runs from September 1st to St. Francis Day, October 4th.
As with other seasons you will notice some variations in our worship service. These changes are drawn from resources provided by the Episcopal Church to help us deepen our relationship with God’s Creation. We look forward to worshipping with you this "Season of Creation."

UNO Pizzeria & Grill Dine-Out Night
Join us for another Fellowship Dine-Out Night!
(And it’s a Fundraiser too)
CGS will be hosting another Restaurant/Dine-out Fundraiser Night at Uno Pizzeria & Grill in Nashua, NH on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
So, mark your calendars and plan to bring your family and friends! Our first two dine-out nights were very successful and have raised $810.18 for all our wonderful CGS Ministries.
The fundraiser will run from the time their doors open at 11AM until midnight. Dine in, take out, food and alcohol sales will all count towards our sales total! Uno’s will donate up to 20% of our sales total for the day. Try to think outside the box, share it with friends and families, and encourage workplaces to order lunch takeout. It’s easy, present a physical copy of the flyer, show it on your phone or simply mention it to your server or order-taker.

CGS Women's Group News!
Sunday September 15, 11:00 AM
CGSW will host the Christmas Ornaments Painting Workshop to support the Stroll and Ginger Bread House Display and Fundraiser. This is new and a lot of thought and hard work have gone into it! Good Shepherd will make and sell wooden "gingerbread" ornaments to sell at the Nashua Holiday Stroll. Hopefully we'll have new designs every year and our friends and neighbors will make a tradition of collecting them just as they make a tradition of visiting our Gingerbread Village during the Stroll.
SO if you have a steady hand (and even if you don't) come to the painting workshop in the hall after the second service where you will find everything you need - unpainted ornaments, instructions and paint pens - to have fun and help the fundraising committee. For any questions please contact Mary O'Reilly at moreilly@cgsnashua.org or 603 424 2432.
CGS Women will provide the hospitality for both Coffee Hour and the Painting Workshop on September 15

CGS BOOK STUDY GROUP 2024-2025
In "Bible Stories for Grown-Ups: Reading Scripture with New Eyes," author Josh Scott looks at familiar Bible stories and reveals new details and interpretations for an adult audience. This six-session Bible study considers stories many of us read as children. Scott reimagines these stories and opens new visions for readers to understand well known pieces of Scripture in our current cultural environment.
We will be meeting monthly between services to explore one story each session. Our first story discussion is October 20. Stop by our display in the Parish Hall during Coffee Hour Sunday, September 15 to learn more!

If you've ever been curious about expanding your outdoor skill set, or are looking to deepen the wilderness practices you already love, this is a day program for you. Facilitated by Episcopal women, come and spend the day learning how to forage for wild mushrooms, build a fire, cook with coals, navigate, use a recurve bow, and so much more. Spend the day connecting with creation, one another, and learning, together, valuable skills in an environment of cooperation and Christian community.
