CJDS Students Integrates Judaics and Arts as Preparation for Passover
CJDS students have been involved with learning about and creating ritual items that they will use during the Pesah Seder. This is an example of how we bring school learning into students’ homes. The students are the teachers who enhance the home holiday tradition with their knowledge and their art work.
Kindergarteners made canvas Afikoman pouches. First graders made clay pinch pots for karpas, their parsley plants grown in Science Class. Second graders decorated glass Elijah Cups with glass paint and gems. Third grade students made batik fabric design & practiced stitching pillows. Fourth grade created ceramic seder plates. Fifth graders sculpted clay to create Miriam's cup and saucer.
