“Foster Growth by Challenging Critical Thinkers to Take Risks,

Honor Differences & Care for Others”

YOUNG AMERITOWNE

Fourth grade students worked together to successfully operate their own community called Young Ameritowne. Students have been preparing to assume a role, such as a policeman, store clerk or accountant. Students enjoyed applying all they learned! They saw first-hand how different roles and responsibilities are needed in a high functioning society. Students also demonstrated financial literacy and leadership. We thank our teachers and parent volunteers for preparing students for this highly enjoyable and engaging simulation.

STATE TESTING FOR GRADES 3-5

All students in grades 3-5 are required by the state of Colorado to take an assessment called the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS). This assessment measures students' achievement and growth in the areas of English Language Arts and Math. Fifth grade students are also assessed in the area of Science. Click here for additional information.

Please see our testing schedule below for specific assessment days and times. We ask that you do not schedule outside appointments during the identified testing window.

PARENT INPUT FOR CLASS PLACEMENT

We know that creating a positive, collaborative learning environment is essential to all students’ success. Creating balanced classes that meet the needs of all students is a difficult endeavor.  This process involves hours of thoughtful dialogue between classroom teachers, administrators and other staff members. The school takes this responsibility seriously and takes each child into consideration.

We value parent input and welcome any insight you wish to share about your child’s strengths, needs and learning style.  We will take into consideration all pertinent information that you share with the principal on or before Friday, April 14. While we welcome your input,  we cannot honor specific teacher requests. Please share your thoughts on this google docPlease make sure you communicate your thoughts via the google doc so we can track your input and refer back to it throughout the process.

NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT COMING SOON

We are excited to use donations from the Digger Dash to purchase new playground equipment for the front playground. In total the community raised $1800 during our school fun run in the fall. These funds, combined with an additional contribution from the PTO, will be used to enhance our current structure. Please see the four new pieces of the equipment that will be delivered at the end of May. We look forward to sharing our installation date as soon as we get it. Our fingers are crossed that it can be installed this year.

We thank our community and the PTO for enhancing our playground. We know that all students will benefit from the addition!

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL REMINDERS

It takes our full community to ensure a safe arrival and dismissal for over 600 Gold Rush students.  Please ensure that you are adhering to the following reminders.  At this time we are asking staff and parents to share violoater's license plates with the Parker Police Department.

* Please do not drop off your child in parking lanes.  You must use the car loop or park and walk your child up.
