PLAY BALL!
The boys of summer return this month as the Edenton Steamers take the field for a full two-month schedule. Make plans to head to historic Hicks Field for some old-fashioned family fun. Special promotions throughout the season include bark in the park, thirsty Thursdays, smokehouse Saturdays with concession items from local favorite Old Colony Smokehouse, and opportunities for kids to run the bases after the game. Don’t forget to take a picture with Sam and Pam the Clams!
FREE SUMMER CONCERTS
On the first Friday of each month, June-August, the Chowan Arts Council hosts Live After Five with music, food trucks, and more. The tunes vary from Motown and classic rock to country and modern pop hits. Each event hosts a local food truck with plenty to eat and drink and lots of friendly folks to make you feel like a local.

CELEBRATE FREEDOM ON THE FOURTH
Start your Independence Day festivities with a tribute to the document that started it all. Gather on the Edenton Bay waterfront at 10 a.m. July 4 for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence. The reading takes place next to the monument commemorating Joseph Hewes, an Edenton resident who signed the declaration. Then spend the day soaking up additional history in North Carolina’s first colonial capital.
ALL ABOARD FOR TROLLEY TOURS
The best way to see Edenton and learn its amazing history is via the Edenton Trolley Tour. Sit back and let the driver do the work while a tour guide regales you with stories of Edenton’s Colonial beginnings and the interesting people who shaped the town’s history. Tours run five days a week.
