Pastoral Search Update

A team has been commissioned to search for a Transitional Pastor in advance of the efforts to find our next called Pastor. The team is composed of four Elders: Mary Helen Cone, Tim O’Neill, Emily Sloan, and Erika Sundrud. Since the departure of Rev. Dan Commerford in May, the team has reviewed over 25 Pastor Information Forms (PIFs) and conducted three interviews. The team has scheduled another interview for next week. Also, the Session has approved funds to allow us to bring a prospective Pastor(s) for a church campus tour. We are as anxious as each of you to call a Transitional Pastor, but the available candidate pool is limited. Please continue to pray for the search team and our church’s leadership as we continue to navigate the process and fill this important position.
If you have any prayer requests, please email Kelly at office@tequestapres.org

Are you in need of a pastoral visit? To schedule a visit, please email office@tequestapres.org. Lynn Weidman will be handling pastoral care from August 8th - August 21st. Erika Sundrud will be handling pastoral care from August 22 - September 4th. Erika can be reached at (617) 838-2496.

Dear Members of the First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta and Preschool,

It is our pleasure to introduce you to our new Preschool Director for First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta, Mrs. Elizabeth Lowe. Elizabeth comes to us most recently from Good Shepherd Church School, Tequesta, Florida. As an educator with 14 years of experience ranging from Kindergarten to Third Grade, her Educational Certification includes two Masters Degrees-one in Reading and another in Educational Leadership which followed her initial Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. During her years of teaching she excelled in curriculum writing, meeting the diverse needs of the children while nurturing a positive classroom community for the children to work, play and grow together. Another strength she brings to us is coordinating and building bridges between the Preschool, church leaders, congregation and the community. These objectives are paramount to her in developing the excellent school our parents expect for their children. As a mother of three active children ages 4, 7 and 10, Elizabeth knows how to balance a busy life while being dedicated to her joy of working with children and their parents. She is ready for the challenges ahead to secure excellent teachers and provide the very best preschool experience for your child. Elizabeth looks forward to meeting you all soon and to begin the school year. Stay tuned for further emails in the coming days. May God continue to guide the path for our children as we embark upon a new school year.

In Christ,
Your Session
