The Abya Yala Student Organization, with co-sponsorship from the Center for Latin American Studies and other partners, is proud to host the Bolivian Cinema Series. The entire series is free and open to the public!

Join us at the Gateway Film Center on Thurs., Aug. 19, at 7:30pm for an in-person screening of the second film in the series, Lo más bonito y mis mejores años (2005), directed by Martín Boulocq.

K-12 Global Fellowship Program

The Area Studies Centers of OSU's Office of International Affairs are now accepting applications for the 2021-22 Global Fellowship Program: Suppression of Independent Media Outlets and Journalism.

All workshops (Sept 1 - Mar 26) will take place on Saturdays from 9am-12pm EST, via Zoom and are free to all pre- and in-service K-12 teachers. Teachers who complete all five sessions will receive 1.6 CEUs.

In this year's program, teachers will learn about the struggles that journalists and independent media outlets face when covering issues and events in different regions across the globe. The pedagogy session will give participants tips on how to teach students to find reliable sources and identify bias in media.

Launch of Tramas & Redes Journal

The Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales (CLACSO) has launched a new open-access digital journal dedicated to the social and human sciences and to debates on political and intellectual processes in Latin America and the Caribbean.

CLACSO invites researchers to submit articles (in Spanish or Portuguese) on a rolling basis, but most immediately for 2 issues of Tramas y Redes to be released in Dec. 2021. For more, visit the journal's website or contact revistatramasyredes@clacso.edu.ar.
