Federal Funding Received!

On August 9, Congressman Mike Garcia presented an award of $2.3 million from the federal government to provide exterior infrastructure upgrades for our Center Pointe campus. Board members and City Councilmember Marsha McLean attended the presentation.

This funding will replace the roof on our main building (32,000 sf) and our education building (almost 5,000 sf). It will also replace our 27 HVAC units with energy-efficient units and the installation of new solar panels.

Thank you Congressman Garcia for your efforts in securing this important grant.

Donations Make a Difference!

AbbVie Donates Care Bags

Thank you to AbbVie for your generous donation of Care Bags for the survivors and children in our Domestic Violence shelter.

Laura Drake delivered 50 bags for women with shampoo, chapstick, journal, wash cloth and lotions as well as bags for children stuffed with water bottle, coloring book and crayons, toothpaste and toys.

Staff members donated and organized the supplies.

Your kindness is sure to bring comfort to those in our care.

Elks Donate Backpacks

Thank you to the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge 2379 for their annual generous donation of 300 backpacks for our elementary, middle and high school clients.

The yearly expense of a new backpack and school supplies is a financial burden for many of the families that we serve.

A new backpack helps children feel confident, and ensures that all children have the same opportunity to start the school year.

Mindful Back to School Tips

As our children adjust to the new school year,

you can help with the transition and their success!

Listen attentively when they express concerns.

Remind them of their strengths and past successes.

Help them organize supplies.

Develop a daily routine for waking up, homework and bedtime.

Show enthusiasm for learning that will inspire confidence.
