Miller Park Zoo's annual Halloween event is back! Come out to the zoo October 22 and 23 for some family-friendly frights.

October 22, 5:00-8:00 PM - entry is $3 for members and $8 for non-members.

October 23, 12:00-3:00 PM - entry is included with Zoo membership or paid admission.

MPZ Welcomes New Director

Miller Park Zoo is excited to welcome Jay Pratte as the new Director of Miller Park Zoo. Jay comes to the Zoo with an incredible background of both zoo work and animal welfare advocacy. His previous positions were at Dallas Zoo, Zoo Atlanta, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and most recently, Utica Zoo. One of his first big tasks at the Miller Park Zoo will be preparing for the Zoo’s accreditation with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums next spring.

Jay is also a founding board member and president of the international nonprofit The Bear Care Group, which works to improve bear welfare and conservation through communication, cooperation, and education among bear care professionals.

There will be more to share about Jay as he gets acquainted with the Miller Park Zoo and its staff, but for now, make sure you welcome him if you see him around the Zoo!

What's Happening

ZooDo Zamboree was a success!

Thank you to everyone that attended, participated, or donated to our annual gala event. Through the use of decorations, music, and food, our event guests were transported to a South American festival. Inspired by this, and the prospect of three new animals hailing from South America in Miller Park Zoo’s future, we raised over $100,000 making this one of our most successful events.

Mulefoot Hog almost ready for debut!

Due to an exciting circumstance, our hog is not quite ready for his close-up. Because of this, the naming contest has been extended a little longer. Keep an eye on the Miller Park Zoo Facebook Page for the winning name for the male hog. More to come on the additional excitement!

The Zoological Society is Hiring!

The Miller Park Zoological Society (MPZS) is currently looking for a full-time Development Manager. MPZS manages the Zoo's membership program and fundraising efforts, and helps support the Zoo and its mission. Check out the posting below for more information on the position.

Construction Continues on South America Project

The South America Project is still moving along behind the construction fencing and still on track for completion in 2023. We still need your support to complete the project and bring three new animals to the Zoo!
