Christmas wreath advent wreath on wooden background with copy space
This Sunday is the fourth Sunday in Advent. Our 11 a.m. worship service will begin with staff singers Allison Drinkard and James Ranson lighting the Advent wreath.

The NDBC Sanctuary Choir will perform the traditional carol "The Snow Lay on the Ground" in an arrangement by Leo Sowerby. The sermon, given by Greg DeLoach, is entitled "When You Are Expecting and Want to Share."

Please join us in person or online. While we encourage you to register your in-person attendance for Sunday morning worship, it is not mandatory. If you forget to register or decide late on Sunday morning that you want to come to worship, please do so. We want to see you whenever possible, especially during the special seasons of Advent and Christmas.
The lesson for adult church school on December 19 is entitled "He Shall Be the One of Peace." Steve Sheeley, teacher for this special Advent series, will draw from the following scriptures: Micah 5:2-5a, Psalm 80:1-7, Luke 1:46b-55, and Hebrews 10:5-10.

Please join us at 9:00 a.m. via the Art & Soul Zoom link. If you are joining the meeting by phone, you will need the meeting's passcode, which is 936319.
As we have all watched the devastating news from Kentucky and other states dealing with the aftermath of last week's tornadoes, many have asked how we can help. The NDBC Missions team has voted to use some discretionary funds to send to the disaster relief efforts of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Kentucky(CBFKY)

Barbara Atchley checked this past week with former NDBC member Zach Bay, now pastor of First Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and CBFKY Coordinating Council member. Zach confirmed that CBFKY would be an excellent organization to support at this time.

Here is information from the organization's website:
"CBFKY has spent a great deal of time in recent years focusing on Disaster Response. We always looked at it as training we would go somewhere else to use.  Now, the place that needs us is where we are. We are not the group that rushes on site, but part of a second wave of volunteers and resources that helps the communities most at risk begin to put their lives back together....We encourage you to give to Disaster Response....These funds will provide the backbone for our response."

NDBC pledges for 2022 now total 59 percent of our budget. This shortfall means that the Finance Committee continues to pursue additional pledges. Please take time to send in your pledge, if you have not already done so, by contacting Business Manager Rose Hidlay at 404-237-8621 or rose@northsidedrive.org.

With thanks,
Dave Wooten, Chair
NDBC Finance Committee
NDBC's Covid Committee and Worship/Music Committee have jointly recommended that we observe one Christmas Eve service, which will be held at 4:00 p.m. A portion of the worship will focus on children and families, followed by a focus on lessons and carols.  Make your plans to attend.
