PTSA NEWS
PLEASE JOIN US IN WELCOMING OUR NEW ISPTSA PRESIDENT, EMILIE CASTLE

Thank you to Emilie Castle, for stepping up from her position as VP Fundraising on the ISPTSA board to President of the ISPTSA this past week. We are thrilled to have her.

We'd also like to thank Azfar Moazzam, ISPTSA President for the 2019–20 school year and the first six months of this school year, for his time and dedication, especially during such uncertain times.
Message from Emilie Castle,
ISPTSA President

Hello!

I'm excited to have been elected President of International School PTSA for the rest of the school year.

For those of you who don't know me, here's a bit about my background. I have three kids in the district—a junior at Newport High School and a 6th grader and Freshman at International.

I have been PTSA president for two years at Somerset Elementary School and two years at Tyee Middle School. For two years, I was Vice President for the Bellevue PTSA Council, and I am now on the board heading up Programs.
I currently serve on six non-profit boards focused mainly on education and athletics. When I am not doing that, I am a Master Gardener and work at the Bellevue Demonstration Garden. I also love to cook for my family and friends.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting many of you in person sometime soon.

6TH GRADE IS PE EXPERIENCE!

Give your 6th grader a casual taste of PE at IS by running—or walking—off-campus PE running routes with volunteer high school students! This is a great way to get outside, get moving, feel connected to IS, and meet fellow students. Each meeting, high school students (and volunteer parents!) will lead our 6th graders on one of IS's many runs—Short Kelsey, Long Kelsey, Secret Garden—just name a few!

There are no timers or competitions! Join us for a voluntary meet-up and make some new friends!

Check out the SignUpGenius page for more info and to sign up. More dates will be added soon.

Sponsored by ISPTSA.

AP EXAMS—CONFIRM BY APRIL 21

Due to the uncertainty of timing and format of AP exams, BSD is extending the AP exam payment deadline from March 1 to April 21. The scholarship deadline is also being extended to April 21. Unused paid exams will be refunded.

EVERYONE who has registered for an AP exam MUST go into the TouchBase system to confirm (pay for) their test registration. Not sure if you registered? Log into your MyAP account. Visit our AP website for information about the program and payment instructions. Students who do not complete this step will not have tests ordered for them.

Stay tuned for BSD decisions on testing dates and formats expected next week.  Please contact Jill at follettj@bsd405.org with questions.
