“This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.”

Luke 22:19

May 28, 2024

From the Desk of Mr. Marty Van Hulle, Principal

SAL Parents:

Parting is such sweet sorrow . . . And while we look forward to some time away from the daily routine that is life at St. Anthony on the Lake School, we will miss the energy and excitement that each day of school brings.

As we close out the 2023-24 school year, I wanted to take a moment to thank those who make SAL such a special place. We are fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated staff who do their best every day to provide high quality experiences to our students. We also couldn’t do what we do without the countless parent volunteers who give so tirelessly of their time and talents. From events in the fall such as Gold in September to last Friday’s High Interest Day, our kids are exposed to so many memory-making activities. Thank you to everyone who has a hand in our success!

A few reminders as we close out the year:

We look forward to celebrating with our 8th graders at graduation tomorrow tonight at 6:00. We will practice with the students tomorrow at 9:15 and then host our traditional “clap out” to celebrate the Class of 2024. We anticipate the clap out to begin at 10:15.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is also a Culvers out-of-uniform day.

On Thursday we will host our all-school mass at 7:45. Students should wear their Mission shirts and their normal school uniform bottoms to mass. We will have a treat following mass and students are then free to depart for the summer. We ask that all students be picked up no later than 10:00 as staff will be busy wrapping up their end-of-year tasks. A reminder that there is no bus service for departure or EDC on Thursday. As we did last year, we will mail report cards home and they will be sent out sometime next week.

Thank you to all who helped make 2023-24 a great year for all of us! We are super appreciative of all who gave of their time and talents to provide high quality experiences for our students. Enjoy the summer ahead – we look forward to seeing everyone again in August!!

Have a great week ahead!

Take care and God Bless!

Called To Serve

THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to all of you for the countless volunteer hours this school this year! Service to others is at the heart of the Catholic faith and your work to support our school and our students has made a significant impact. We appreciate your time and talents in the many, varied ways that you have supported St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic School.

Parent Volunteer Expectations

St. Anthony on the Lake School is a strong, vibrant school due to the help of many volunteers!

We are fortunate to provide more variety of volunteer opportunities to parents and be able to use classroom volunteers. In addition to any volunteer duties you wish to do, all families are expected to sign up for 3 specific duties per trimester (through Sign-Up Genius), St. Anthony on the Lake: Trimester 3 Volunteer Sign Up (signupgenius.com) This includes playground, lunch serving, lunchroom helper, or health room. If you are unable to come to help during the school day, you are asked to sign up and in turn, get a sub from the sub list.

Immediate Volunteer Needs

Thank you for your many volunteer hours this year. We are pleased to report that we do not have any remaining volunteer slots unfilled for the remainder of the year. Thank you!

Safe Environment Education

Anyone who is volunteering in any manner here at St. Anthony on the Lake will need to participate in a one-time training titled “Safe Environment Education”. This training is mandated by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. To register and for additional information, please go to the Safe Environment page on the Archdiocese website. Again, this training, along with a background check, is a one-time training requirement for all adults.

Greeters at Sunday Mass

Would your family like to greeters on Sunday Mornings at Church? Greeters play an important part in welcoming parishioners and visitors to Mass each week. Greeters have several important duties before Mass begins. They welcome people into the building, show them where to hang coats, where to find the restrooms and where the childcare room is.

How does your family become Greeters? You will need to contact the Music and Liturgy Office and have your family’s name added to the Greeters Participation Group of MySAL. Once your name is in the Participation Group you can go in at anytime and sign up for the date and Mass time you wish.

If you have any questions, contact Vincent LaTona in the Prayer and Worship Office at 262 691-1173 ex. 1109 or by email at latonav@stanthony.cc.
