Continuing Our Advocacy Efforts

Dear Members,

We are busy this morning contacting our state representatives to co-sign a letter to Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi to request an additional $6 billion in funding for the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) program in the upcoming budget reconciliation package.

We are also organizing a coalition letter from 22 state and regional associations for the same purpose.

Last week, we sent you a request to contact your representatives. We are reminding you today to please act, if you have not done so yet, and share with your friends and family. GNJMA has posted the links on all our social channels in addition to sending emails.

Further, our national associations (ABA and UMA), have shared easy-to-use, one-click campaigns to reach our representatives. Please use these, or simply write a letter, or call. Your voice is the most powerful voice to our representatives whom you vote into office.

Again, the U.S. Treasury has confirmed that the needs of the motorcoach industry far exceeded the funding level of the CERTS Act grant program by nearly $7 billion. In addition, that funding was based on the industry’s losses in 2020 and does not even consider the significant losses in 2021.

As Congress considers the reconciliation legislation to enact President Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan, we are requesting the inclusion of $6 billion in additional funding for the CERTS program.

Please see the below links for a one-click approach to contact Congress....and please share!
Thank you!
