Principal's Message

Middle School Families:

This past Tuesday morning, I shared news with our staff that I would also like to share with you. In filling in for Mr. Bork last year when he was on leave and with being interim principal this year, I have struggled to find the personal balance that I desire in terms of both time and being present in all ways with my family. Some of the best advice my father has given me is the importance and role that timing plays in life. With this in mind, I am not going to be applying for the permanent middle school principal position and am happy to be returning to my role as Assistant Principal. I am beyond grateful to our staff and our parent/guardian community as I’ve felt nothing but support this past year in the role of interim principal, and I know this support will continue as I transition back to Assistant Principal. I am proud of the work that has happened at St. Louis Park Middle School this year, am thankful for this opportunity that I’ve had from Superintendent Osei, and want to recognize and thank interim Assistant Principal Cam Muata for his work this school year as well. I look forward to welcoming and supporting the new middle school principal and remain committed to continuing to make St. Louis Park Middle School a great place to be for all students.

Middle School Principal Update

A Message from Superintendent Osei

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Mr. Boll for his contributions and leadership during his time as interim principal. For the past year and a half, he has demonstrated invaluable guidance and support to our staff, students, and community. Mr. Boll has an unwavering commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and I wish him all the best as he returns to his role as Assistant Principal at the middle school.

Over the next couple of weeks we will engage in the process to hire a new middle school principal, with the first round interviews taking place next week. Thank you to everyone who has agreed to participate in the selection process. We hope to announce the new principal by the end of the month, and introduce them to the school community later this spring. The principal will begin their role in time for the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

Quiz Bowl

One of our amazing Quiz Bowl Teams qualified for Nationals at the tournament last Saturday, March 4th, 2023.

SLP Team A took 4th place out of 26 teams in this tournament.

Seventh Grader Elise Hogg placed 3rd individually while Seventh Grader Sam Webb placed 10th individually out of 117 players.

This was one of our most successful tournaments to date since Quiz Bowl began at our middle school in 2018. We wouldn't be able to participate in these Saturday games without the support of the families who step in and help with Assistant Coaching so I can see each team throughout the day. A huge thank you goes to them for their time, learning the rules, and keeping score. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this at SLP.

The SLP Team A Members that qualified for Nationals include:

Tyber Augustine

Riley Hicks

Elise Hogg

Cesar Wood

All students were very kind to one another and those that didn't continue in the playoff rounds encouraged the teams still advancing. Truly a joy to see such camaraderie among our students! Enjoy the photos that show a celebration of learning!
