Thank you for celebrating National Small Business Month and the Heart of Van Ness Main Street!
Despite a bit of rain, we had a terrific time last Sunday during Celebrate the Heart of Van Ness Main Street! We enjoyed meeting visitors from all over the District - Capitol Hill, Crestwood, Petworth, Woodley Park, Tenleytown, and Chevy Chase - as well as friends and new neighbors within the corridor. Most importantly, it was wonderful to once again connect in person after a long, challenging year.
Everyone enjoyed small business specials, a 'find the blue heart' selfie scavenger hunt and of course the opportunity to draw on the sidewalk! Find information below on our next outdoor event on June 5th with Turning the Page.

COMING SOON: Movie Nights at the UDC Amphitheater!
We're excited to share the news that Van Ness Main Street and UDC are joining forces to host “Movie Night at the Park @ UDC Amphitheater". Our theme for the series is perseverance, and movies will be G, PG, or PG13. They'll be shown on six Wednesday nights over the summer, taking place on June 23 & 30, July 14 & 21, and August 11 & 18. A tentative seventh movie night is planned for Friday, September 24th to cap off an evening of Art All Night festivities taking place around the VNMS corridor.
Movie night reservations will be required, but attendance is free. We encourage everyone to bring a picnic - dinner, drinks, or snacks from our list of local eateries to enjoy before or during the film. The amphitheater will be open to begin gathering at 8 pm, with showtime scheduled for 9 pm. Look for the movie titles, schedule, links to reserve, and more next week!
Interested in being a sponsor? We'll be running a sponsor reel before the movie and we'd love to help promote your local business. Sponsors will also be mentioned in our newsletter and in social media ads promoting the films. Learn about rates and availability by emailing us: info@VanNessMainStreet.org.

Passport DC @Home
Thirteen years ago, Cultural Tourism DC and its affiliates formed Passport DC, an event that honors the diversity of cultural influences in DC via a month-long journey that takes people around the world without ever leaving DC.
This May, as a virtual event, Passport DC @Home highlights DC's international and diplomatic community through live and pre-recorded activities delivered by affiliates, embassies, and select DC restaurants and cultural institutions. We look forward to having Passport DC return to Van Ness next year!
