Children's Christmas Program
The Sunday School children presented the story of Jesus' birth with songs and readings on Sunday, December 12th. Katie Freese was the narrator for the program.

Thank you to Sunday School teachers and helpers: James and Lindsay Freese, Linnea Laffin, Ricky Aulie, and Jill and Jerry DeCent for all of their work on the program. Also thank you to accompanist Judi Burson.

Youth Christmas Party
The youth celebrated Christmas on Wednesday, December 8th. Nancy Evans' Bible study group provided a ham dinner for the students and volunteers. The students participated in a Bible trivia quiz about Jesus' birth. A "white elephant" gifts was carried out game form. Kevin Martini read the Christmas story from Luke and whenever he read the word left the gifts were passed to the left and whenever the word right was read, the gifts were passed to the right.
New Members


Immanuel welcomed new members to the family on Sunday, November 21st. Please be sure to welcome these new members when you see them in worship.

Sunday School
Sunday School meets on Sundays at 10:40am following Children's Time in the 10:30 worship service.

There will be Sunday School on Sunday, December 19th but there will not be Sunday School on Sunday, December 26th or Sunday, January 2nd. Sunday School will resume Sunday, January 9th.

Thank you to the Sunday School teachers James Freese, Lindsay Freese, Ricky Aulie, and Linnea Laffin for their dedication to the children of Immanuel.
Youth Ministry
Confirmation
Confirmation classes at Immanuel meet the first and third Wednesdays at 7:00pm. The sessions include pizza, singing, a short activity and the lesson. The students are studying The Apostles' Creed.

The students are expected to attend at least one youth group session each month, complete 10 sermon notes during the program year. Sermon note forms, and the basket to return them, are located on a small table in the back of the church.
Each student is expected to complete 10 hours of service at church during the program year. Please see the Service Opportunities check list and select those you are interested in. Confirmation classes will resume January 5th.
Youth Group
Youth Group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at the church at 6:00pm. The church is open at 5:00 for the youth to gather, do homework, etc. The youth have been watching The Chosen and discussing what they have seen. If there is a 5th Wednesday in the month, a special activity will be planned for the youth.

There will be no youth group December 22nd or 29th.
Advent Luncheon

The women of Immanuel held an Advent luncheon on Saturday, December 4th. Jean and Kendra from Grace Lutheran in McGregor joined the Immanuel women for this special event. Rick Koop provided special music for the event.
Meal With A Mission
The November Meal With A Mission on November 21st benefited the REC (Residents Encountering Christ. The funds raised are used to buy crosses and Bibles for the residents in the jail.

There was not a Meal With A Mission in December. The January Meal With a Mission on January 16th will benefit Cuyuna Lakes Lunch Bunch, lunches for students during the summer.
Christmas Eve Worship
Immanuel will have three worship services at 2:00, 4:00, and 8:00pm on Christmas Eve, December 24th.

There will be only one service on Sunday, December 26th at 9:00am.

Remember that you can always listen to the service in the vicinity of the church on FM 88.1 or you can listen to the podcast of the message on Immanuel's website. The video of the whole service will be posted on Monday, December 27th on the website.
Thanksgiving Praise and Pie
It has become a tradition at Immanuel to hear faith statements at the Thanksgiving Eve service. This year Barb Schilling, a friend of Jill Mattson and Elaine Karel, Member Ministry Coordinator gave their faith statements.

Elaine spoke of how God has been working in her life during the sale of a house. Barb spoke of God's care in her health struggles.

Following the worship service everyone enjoyed pie and fellowship.
