ABC Fundraising Update
Donation Deadline Extended to 10/12
Thank you all so very much for your donations in the last few days to save our programs and events from being cut! We are very close to reaching our goal of $34,000. As of today, you have helped us get to 82% ($28,007) of our goal, but we STILL NEED MORE DONATIONS to preserve all of our programs and events that we had planned for the year.
If you haven't already, please consider getting your donation and corporate matching in by 10/12/22 so the PTA Board can plan the budget with full funding. DONATE HERE. The Board meetings on 10/13 which is why we've extended the deadline while giving the Board time to work on budget adjustments. Again, you can donate throughout the year, BUT your donation by 10/12 will be the most impactful for our budget planning. We cannot execute our programs and events without a member-approved budget which will happen at the first upcoming PTA General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 7:00PM in the Rockwell Library or via Teams..
Thank you for your generous and speedy support!

Rockwell Elementary School Fall Book Fair
Dear Rockwell Families!
Book Fair is finally here! This week (October 10th) we will start with student sales during school hours. See details below. We are still in need of some more volunteers for family sales during teacher conference week! Link to sign up is HERE.
Fair Dates: October 10th - 20th, 2022
How it will work this year:
-
The 1st week of the fair (10/10 - 10/14) will be for STUDENT purchases only. Students in 4th and 5th grades will be allowed to come to the fair during all school recess (specific dats for each grade). Purchases can be made with cash - no bills over $20.00 please and "all change" makes it difficult for our volunteer cashiers in the short time students are here. Consider discussing how paying for items works with your child before sending with cash. Remember there is always sales tax as well. Families can also sign up for eWallet, which is a great way to put money in your child's account and avoid the cash issue. Then students just tell us their name when they check out.
-
The 2nd week of the fair (10/17, 10/18, and 10/20) is for families to visit the fair during in-person teacher conferences after school dismissal. Schedule coming soon.
-
Online Shopping! Can't make it to the fair? Online shopping starts 10/10 and goes to the end of the fair dates. CLICK HERE for our school fair homepage.
The library receives a portion of sales to purchase new books. Please consider attending and helping the library provide new material for all students at our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is sure to be super fun!
Interested in volunteering at the Book Fair? We need lots of help. Volunteers can work at the cash registers, act as floaters-helping families/students find books or help with set up and tear down of the fair. Sign up to volunteer here:

Kick off National Arts and Humanities month with the Reflections Art Contest!
October is National Arts and Humanities month, and what better way to celebrate it than participating in an event that highlights the artistic expression of our children.
Each year's National Reflections art competition has a theme and this year's is "Show Your Voice!". Entries are taken in 6 different categories: visual arts, literature, music composition, dance choreography, photography and film production. Don't miss out on this opportunity to share and showcase your work.
Entries are due by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 25th. Winners will advance to the District level with a chance to have their artwork displayed in Washington DC!
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition which was started in 1969 and is the largest arts in education program of its kind in the Unites States. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works, created around a specific theme.
