Water Conservation Advice
As the hot, dry weather continues, you may have the urge to increase water usage to keep your yard in good shape. But, water conservation is important to keep in mind during times like these. According to Lakeway MUD, outdoor water use accounts for nearly 60 percent of household water use by most residents. There are various water service providers in the City of Lakeway, but for those Lakeway MUD customers, Stage 2 restrictions remain in place, with the irrigation at a maximum of two-days per week for the use of an in-ground or automatic irrigation system or hose-end sprinkler. It's important to check that your automatic controller is programmed to only irrigate only on specific days, and before or after the hottest hours of the day (around 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Lakeway MUD reminds customers that rebates are available for irrigation system evaluations and to help offset the cost of upgrading irrigation systems, maintaining landscapes and pools, and installing rainwater harvesting equipment. As always, use water wisely. For more information from Lakeway MUD, please CLICK HERE. For those with another water provider, please be sure to check their website (located on your water bill) for the latest updates.
Traffic Safety Award

It was recently announced that Lakeway Municipal Court received its 10th traffic safety award from the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC). In the category of low volume courts (population of 30,000 or less), Lakeway is now the most awarded court in the State of Texas. The award recognizes those municipal courts, demonstrating outstanding contributions to increasing traffic safety and preventing impaired driving. CLICK HERE for more details.
Parks & Recreation Month

July is National Parks & Recreation Month, according to the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA). "We Rise Up for Parks & Recreation" is the theme this year, celebrating our parks professionals who rise up for our community. Besides the numerous parks and trails in Lakeway, the department also hosts several events and classes, along with overseeing forestry services, and the City's history and arts programs.
