For it is not small to

one who has nothing.

A Time to Repent & Renew

Every year we are encouraged during the season of Lent to take a look at our lives as Christians. We can liken it to the season of Spring. The bulbs beneath the earth are beginning to open and bring forth the beautiful flowers they are intended to be. Planting, nourishing and providing light reminds us of what is necessary for the growth of a plant. Isn’t this also essential to our own growth as Christians? As Lent quickly approaches, we invite you to join our Sisters in person or online from wherever you live for a variety of programs intended to enrich your experience of this most sacred season with spirituality, creativity and renewed awareness.

Tuesdays Starting Feb. 28

Praying with the Psalms

Led by Sister M. Virginelle Makos

Lent invites us to draw closer to Christ. Given the challenges of watching the news and trying to remain hopeful, it is the perfect time to reflect on the Psalms. Like their writers, we, too, feel conflicting emotions of joy, gratitude, loss and sorrow. Let's learn to apply these powerful words to the challenges of our daily lives.

The San Damiano Cross

Led by Sister Barbara Brown

Join us for a special twilight retreat that will explore the symbolism and spirituality of the San Damiano Cross. It is said that St. Francis of Assisi prayed before this cross, receiving the commission from the Lord to rebuild the Church. What is the Lord commissioning us to do in our lives? Let's talk about it.

Lenten Painting Workshop

Attend in person on Sunday, March 19

Enjoy an afternoon of fun, painting, prayer and community at our St. Francis Center for Renewal in Bethlehem, Pa., as artist Jillian Speranza leads participants through a simple yet prayerful, Lent-inspired painting to take home at the end of the day. This interactive program combines painting with friends with a spiritual Visio Divina (praying with art) experience. No experience painting? No problem! Jillian will assist participants and be as hands-on as you need.
