Silver Palm Park & Boat Ramp to Reopen July 1
Silver Palm Park will reopen to the public on July 1 at 7am. The renovated boat ramp area now includes a new floating dock with three dedicated boat ramp spaces (one double, one single) for use. The project also features a new fish cleaning station, fishing dock facing the intracoastal waterway, and restrooms -- all open and operational for July 1.

Pro-rated boat launch permits are currently on sale at our community centers. The permits will be for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, which runs through September 30. Visit the Wildflower / Silver Palm Park webpage for more information.
Make Your Fourth of July Fabulous with Fun & Fireworks
Celebrate your Fourth of July with the City at the Fabulous Fourth event at Countess de Hoernle Park/Spanish River Athletic Facility on Monday, July 4 from 5:30pm - 9:30pm.

This FREE event features live music, rides, kids' crafts and activities, video game trucks, food trucks and vendors (for purchase) and more! Then at 9pm, enjoy a spectacular fireworks show! Read everything you need to Know Before You Go!

FREE Parking & Shuttle Service
Free parking will be available nearby at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC). Complimentary shuttle service will begin at 5pm through the end of the event. Shared Ride Drop-Off is located at 4530 Technology Way.

Water System Disinfection Program & Fire Hydrant Flushing Begins July 10
To maintain the City's high quality water system, Utility Services will temporarily modify the disinfection process used by the water treatment facility starting Sunday, July 10 through Sunday, July 24. Customers may notice a slight chlorine taste or odor in the tap water during this time. Fire hydrants will be flushed during this time as well. Customers may notice flowing water in streets and swales, localized lower water pressures and a slight discoloration of their tap water.

The City's Utility Services Department recently published the 2021 Drinking Water Quality Report (posted by July 1, yearly), which provides a comprehensive summary of water quality tests required by multiple government agencies.

Having a Garage Sale? You Need a Permit
Now that summer is in full swing, here's a friendly reminder that garage sales in neighborhoods within City limits require residents to obtain a permit.

To get a permit, residents can fill out an application online. Applications will typically be approved by email within 24 hours, Monday - Friday. Homeowners must comply with the garage sale permitting regulations that can be found on the City's website. Contact Code Enforcement at 561-393-7825 or [email protected] for more information.

Safety Message from Fire Rescue
While fireworks are a traditional part of the July 4th celebration, every year people take potentially dangerous risks when they celebrate. Did you know... of the 11,500 fireworks injuries treated in hospital emergency departments in 2021, about 74% occurred in the month surrounding the July 4th holiday. How to Keep Your Furry Friends Safe This July 4th
While we may enjoy Fourth of July festivities, some of our furry friends may not be so keen. Here are some tips to keep in mind this coming weekend:

  • Keep your pets INSIDE your home
  • Give them a safe, comfortable place to hide
  • Use ambient noise to mask the noise, like TV or radio
  • Update their IDs and microchips (just in case!)
  • Consider staying home with them
  • Keep them busy with treats or toys

Rendering for NW 1st Beautification project
NW 1st Avenue Beautification Project
In conjunction with construction of the Brightline train station, gateway beautification is underway along NW 1st Ave. Improvements include new sidewalks, street lighting, benches, bike racks, landscaping, and a signalized intersection.

NW 1st Ave. is currently open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Yamato Road Paving Project
Paving Project Along Yamato Road
Lane closures along Yamato Rd. are in effect from Boca West Dr. to Military Trail for a paving project. The project will be completed prior to school opening in August 2022.

Advanced Notice: Following Yamato Rd. paving, Spanish River Blvd. will also be resurfaced from Military Trail to Broken Sound Blvd., AND from NW 6th Way to Federal Hwy.

Parks Updates & Improvements
Sand Pine Park reopens on Friday, July 1. Upgrades include:

  • New restroom building
  • New pavilion
  • New field surfacing
  • New sports lighting
  • New sports court surfacing
  • New playground and fitness equipment
  • Sidewalk repairs
Wildflower Park - With Silver Palm Park reopening on July 1, work at the adjacent Wildflower Park continues with an anticipated opening in fall 2022.

Hillsboro El Rio Park North - Restroom renovation is being completed and the park is scheduled to reopen by the end of July.

Meadows Park Playground - The playground at Meadows Park is closed this summer due to renovations. It will receive new playground equipment, surfacing, new shades, fencing and a pavilion restoration, and is due to reopen in fall 2022.

Holiday Sanitation Changes
Due to the Independence Day holiday, customers serviced by the City may have a collection day change:

City Offices Closed and NO Sanitation Service on Monday, July 4, 2022.

  • Monday, July 4 collection has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 5.
  • Tuesday, July 5 collection has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 6.
