ISPTSA 2020-2021 SCHOLARSHIPS
Exciting news, Seniors! Our very own ISPTSA will be awarding four $500 Scholarships to the IS Class of 2021 to help celebrate and honor our graduating seniors. We thank all the PTSA members that contributed to support this scholarship and our school.

BELLEVUE PTSA COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIPS
Bellevue PTSA Council offers twelve (12) $1,000 scholarships to seniors representing each high school in BSD annually. The Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding community service and rewards one student from each high school a $1,000 scholarship. The Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship rewards academic excellence to one graduating senior from each high school, funded by Bellevue PTSA Council. Applicants will be evaluated by the Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship Committee consisting of representatives from each high school.

GOLDEN ACORN AWARD NOMINATIONS BEGIN
We are beginning to accept applications for the Golden Acorn award. Our chair for this committee will be Li Wu, the 2019-2020 recipient. The Golden Acorn is a high honor awarded by the ISPTSA to a school or community volunteer in recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. The ISPTSA has awarded this honor to recipients since 1994.
If you feel there is someone in our PTSA community or the community at large who deserves this award, please complete this nomination award form and send in . The committee will be accepting nominations until May 12. The recipient will be honored at the June ISPTSA General Membership meeting.

SCHOLASTIC DRIVE-THROUGH BOOK FAIR!

International School Parking Lot
In addition to the virtual book fair, we will be hosting a drive-through book fair in the parking lot of the school. This will be held April 7, 3:00–6:00 PM. People can purchase books onsite at International School. This will be a cashless event. There will be value packs with 25-50% discounts on these books.

International School PTSA is hosting a virtual book fair with Scholastic Books. The book fair will run until Thursday, April 8 online. 2021 VIRTUAL STEM FAIR
THIS WEEK, Monday, April 5–Friday, April 9
Run by Bellevue School District high school students, the annual STEM Fair sets to inspire students across a variety of backgrounds to consider and learn more about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This is accomplished by showcasing a diverse group of experts and their research. STEM Fair exposes students to the variety of STEM careers available beyond what is taught in high schools.

After the district's "Back to Buildings Update" email sent this past Friday, there might be some additional questions. We will be hosting an evening virtual “Principal Coffee” this Tuesday, April 6, 6:30–7:30 PM. During this time, we will be sharing all the procedures that students and families need to be aware of and answering questions. We will record this for those who are unable to attend.

AP EXAMS MAY 4–JUNE 11
- All world language exams (Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish for IS students) will be in-person only. Chinese and Japanese testers will receive a message to the email address listed in the tester’s MyAP account from Kay Whelan or Kara Meisner with test-specific information.
- The final BSD schedule is posted on our website. Your exam date in your MyAP account might reflect a new date as updates are in progress. If you notice a conflict, please reach out so we can work together to adjust your schedule.

Spring is in the air, which means that we’re getting close to pool season! Norwood Swim Club in the Woodridge neighborhood of Bellevue is working hard to make sure that we have plenty of opportunities to enjoy all the wonderful things our pool has to offer – swim lessons, swim team, and fun in the sun during open swim, all operating within COVID guidelines.
