A Message from Administration

JTERM 2023 (JANUARY 3-6)

Dear Parents and Students,

We are looking forward to Jterm 2023 (January 3-6)! The registration process is fast approaching.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

Middle school students are automatically enrolled in their Jterm retreats. More detailed packets and information for Excelerate (6th grade), Elevate (7th grade), and Prepare to Believe (8th grade) will be forthcoming from the respective leaders.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Online Jterm registration and payment for high school students runs from Sunday, August 28 to Tuesday, September 6. Parents will receive a text alert on Sunday, August 28 notifying them to check their email for the Jterm registration link.

Access to the online registration starts with seniors at 1:30 p.m. Registration for students in grades 9-11 opens at 2:30 p.m. Please Note – Registrations for underclassmen made prior to 2:30 p.m. will be canceled.

Participation in Jterm/Mterm is a graduation requirement each year a student is enrolled at CVCA.

Please see the Jterm 2023 Course and Trip Offerings. We encourage you to spend time together as a family exploring and discussing which options might be both beneficial and financially feasible for your child. The costs and details for each Jterm opportunity are listed in the document. Students should have second and third choice options in mind when registering in the event their first choice is filled. Payment-in-full is due at the time of registration with the exception of trips. For CVCA-planned trips, 50% of the total trip cost is due at the time of registration, with the balance of the trip paid on October 1 and November 1, automatically through FACTS. A deposit for all Joshua Expedition (JE) trips is collected at registration. Families register directly with JE once the CVCA registration is complete. All payments for JE trips are made directly to JE following their payment schedule.

High school students must enroll in one of the following options:

  • All-day class
  • Career Experience Opportunity (grades 11-12)
  • Morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) class session – creating a full-day experience for the week
  • Trip

Important Athletics Note: All winter athletes are expected to select a local Jterm opportunity so they can participate in practices and games as outlined in the CVCA Student/Parent Handbook, page 43. Any questions or concerns regarding this policy should be directed to the Athletic Department.

Please Note: CVCA reserves the right to cancel classes or trips not meeting minimum enrollments.

If you have questions about a course or trip listed in the Jterm 2023 Course and Trip Offerings, please contact the lead faculty member listed in the document. For general questions about Jterm, please contact Linda Staker at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Eric Ling
