Do you know what AB 506 means for your congregation or organization? Free webinar Wednesday 9/28 at noon!

Assembly Bill 506, passed in 2021, changed some background check and other requirements for youth service organizations, particularly with regard to their volunteers. Much of this new legislation and its rollout left many in the sector unclear about how to proceed, and whether it applies to their organization or not.

Join a discussion about new mandated reporter training requirements and other implications of this bill. This one-hour webinar will:
  • Explore the basics of AB506, with Kristen Anderson of the Law Firm for Nonprofits
  • Hear the insurance perspective, from Fred Harrington, Ph.D, Nonprofit Insurance Alliance
  • Examine the realities of implementation through a case study presented by Theresa Edy Kiene, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles
  • Learn more about adjustment efforts, including comments from Assemblymember Azrin Nazarian, 46th District
  • Discuss together what more we need to do to comply
Shush-Free Worship
at Trinity, Pasadena
Trinity Lutheran Church (997 E. Walnut St., Pasadena) is now officially a Rejoicing Spirits congregation, ministering to adults experiencing intellectual and/or developmental challenges.
Our Rejoicing Spirits chapel meets every Thursday at 11:00 a.m. We sing familiar hymns, tell a Bible story, pray, and celebrate communion.

Participants have hand-held musical instruments with which to make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Since July, we have been serving the Avanti Program, a program of the San Gabriel Valley Region of Lutheran Social Services of Southern California. Now, we are opening this joyful worship to other groups and families. Please join us or recommend us to families and organizations who are interested in worship opportunities for all God’s children!
