August 16-17
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga (RGCS) today announced that veteran New York Congressman Paul Tonko and legendary jockey Richard “The Mig” Migliore will be the luncheon keynote speakers. Tonko and Migliore will join a roster of more than 40 experts who will participate at the two-day conference, which takes place August 16-17 at the 1863 Club at the historic Saratoga Race Course.

U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko will be the luncheon keynote speaker on August 17. Tonko, who represents the state’s 20th Congressional District, is recognized for his dedication to the passage of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act in December 2020. The Humane Society of the United States honored him for his ongoing leadership and support on several other equine welfare initiatives by naming him the 2020 Humane Horseman of the Year.

Richard Migliore will be the luncheon keynote speaker on August 16. Winner of the Eclipse Award as outstanding apprentice jockey in 1981, Migliore became a leading rider – primarily on the New York circuit – for three decades before retiring in 2010. A Brooklyn native, he won 4,450 races and his mounts earned more than $160 million, winning prestigious races such as the Pacific Classic, the Man ’o War Stakes, and the Personal Ensign Stakes. Winner of the 2008 George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award, Migliore is now a horse racing commentator, providing handicapping insight and interviews.

The RGCS will bring together nearly 150 gaming and racing industry leaders, academics, elected officials, lawyers, regulators, and racing patrons to examine the trends, challenges and critical issues facing the racing and gaming industries.

The RGCS takes place in the 1863 Club at Saratoga Race Course. Located at the Clubhouse turn, the 1863 Club offers exceptional experiences with breathtaking views while maintaining a theme of Saratoga’s historic charm. The luxury facility was named to commemorate the first meet at Saratoga.

Registration is still open to the public. Click here to register and view the RGCS agenda.

RGCS has been approved for 11 credit hours by the Nevada Board of Continuing Legal Education, underscoring its prominence as a vital gaming forum. New York CLE credit approval is pending.
