About Me: America’s Scrapbook offers a selection of antique advertising, ephemera and collectible memorabilia, focused mainly 1870-1970, but with an emphasis on showcasing popular culture. On eBay, our seller name is kenbay, with auctions ending most Sunday evenings. The business was founded in 1970 as Ken Kapson Antiques and America’s Scrapbook LLC was added in 1991. The current owner, Alice Muncaster, is an author, editor, collector, experienced antiques/collectibles dealer, and a member of the AAAA Board of Directors.

Item #1. Murine Eye Drops Advertising Poster Proof - SOLD
Great vivid color, likely one-of-a-kind -- from lithography company archive. Proof for metal sign. Will be shipped flat. 7-1/2 inches x 10 inches.
Item #2. 1883 George Perkins Fine Shoes Metamorphic Die-Cut Trade Card - $25.00
Great large die-cut, with a kind of fairy tale theme -- small splits on right edge. Hard to find with dealer imprint. Amesbury, Mass.
Item #3. Keno Tobacco 8-Panel Trade Card Folder - SOLD
Early & hard to find Trade Card folder, with super illustrations, full color, backs are blank. 8 panels. Last card has some dirt smudging and two pinholes. Each panel is 3-1/2 inches x 5-1/4 inches.
Item #4. Barker's Komic Picture Souvenir Series - 4 Books - $75.00 for Set
Nice set of soft-cover books filled with comic illustrations about Barker's horse, cattle & poultry products. "Ethyl" name on front cover in pencil. Book 1 has a few light bends; ask for more condition info. Each book is 6-1/4 inches x 9-1/4 inches.
Item #5. 1901 Frolie 12-Page Calendar Complete- Quaker Oats - SOLD
Great graphics, original string; 12 pages plus cover with fortune-telling theme. From the American Cereal Company, Chicago. Slight paper loss on front cover. Gorgeous color illustration on each page. 5-3/4 inches square. More photos on request. 
Item #6. No-To-Bac (Cure for Tobacco Habit) Trade Card Folder - $20.00
This folder shows how to win the girl -- because this successful man doesn't use tobacco -- he broke the tobacco habit with No-To-Bac. Corner repaired bottom right.
Item #7. 1888 Fleishmann's Yeast 12-Page Calendar - $55.00
Beautiful lithography; complete but no ribbon. No tears, small light corner bend on 3 pages; minor spots where some pages once had slightly stuck together, likely before the ink dried after original printing/stacking. Some spots on back of last page. More photos on request.
Item #8. Victorian Children's Fashion Poster - $45.00
Shows capes and cloaks for little girls. Perfection Cloak Company, Chicago. Probably 1880s-1890s. Will ship folded on original folds. 10-1/2 inches x 13 inches.

A nice Victorian die-cut. Gorgeious color; illustrated back (bottles, crest) has scrapbook page paper residue around the edge. 7-1/2 inches x 10-1/2 inches.

Speer's Port Grape Wine $45: Speers printed in red on 3-1/2 inches x 5-3/4 inches (approx) envelope, glued closed. Top left corner has small tear. Printing on back for C.B.Woodward, Great Bend, Pa., some glue discoloration on back. Japanese Perfume $15: in full color, glued closed, 2-1/2 inches x 4-1/4 inches.  Pure Peter Cigars (2) $10 for both - nice and colorful, unused.
Item #11. Unusual Trade Cards - Priced Individually 
A. Driessen Cacao Metamorphic Die-Cut Trade Card $22- Printed in the Netherlands, great Dutch-language trade card, die cut shows the product can; open the card and lid to see pretty lady inside - risquely showing her ankles!! Dealer imprint in Englewood, IL (pre-1889, when the city was annexed into Chicago). Early Star Cut Plug Chewing Tobacco Trade Card $20 (Liggett & Myers).
Item #12. Cigar Label - Salesmen's Sample - Vestibule Car (untrimmed) - African American Waiter - $45.00
George Harris & Sons. # 4202, Philadelphia, NY, Chicago and pricing printed on back for ordering; someone's name written in pencil on back. Nice African American waiter on train car scene.

Item #14. Walther's Peptonized Port Die-Cut Booklet - SOLD
From the Walther Peptonized Port Co., Pittsburgh, Penn. Beautiful color litho illustrations. Probably dates to the turn of the 20th century. 5-1/2 inches x 2 inches.
Item #15. 1903 Pan American Clothing - Union Labor Sign - Wile Bros & Weill - Buffalo - SOLD
Most likely an in-store display sign, since it shows a specific price. May have been in a holder on a table of goods. Produced by  Wile Bros & Weill - Buffalo, N.Y. Great color; a couple of spots on the back. Heavy cardboard. 4-3/4 inches x 6-1/2 inches. 
Item #16. 1874 Canton's Perfumed Almanac Calendar Fan - $30.00
Six coated, die-cut paper panels. Panels for the first six months of the year are on the front side, and have full-color; reverse is pink with gold. Original metal grommet fastener.
Item #17. 1949 Pennsylvania Railroad Calendar - Artwork by Grif Teller - $55.00
A nice example of the 1949 Pennsylvania Railroad Calendar with partial calendar page for November and December, 1949 and January, 1950. Minor tear on page. Great graphics, with original metal rails and string. Will be shipped rolled in a tube. Size: About 28 inches square. See photo for edge condition.

1925 Frederics Salon Products -Great illustrations of odd permanent wave machines and other salon products - catalog is targeting salon owners. 20-pages + cover. About 5-1/4 inches x 8-1/4 inches (closed). 1912 Arts and Crafts of the Orient (SOLD) - 32-pages + cover with color fold-out of kimonos and imported objects. Condition is nice on each; ask for details.

1906 Lindsay Lights & Gas Mantles Calendar $30 - "The Lindsay Girl". Partial calendar pad. Electrical Construction Co., Racine, Wisc. 1888 Clark's Thread Calendar $15 - complete, original. Light bends, corner bumps, left side 1/2-inch edge tear; original punch-hole at top. Overall 4-inches x 6-3/4 inches.
Item #20. 1965 Ditzler Pinup Girl Calendar Top -Gil Elvgren - $125.00
Great vintage artwork. Trimmed bottom, but stunning illustration by famed pinup artist Gillette (Gil) Elvgren. Very hard to find automotive paint finishes advertising. Produced by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company (PPG acquired the Ditzler company in the 1920s). Original metal rail on top. Will be shipped rolled in a tube. Priced with condition considered. Measures 22 inches x 32 inches.
Item #21. The Marksman Cigar Box - SOLD
Uncommon deep box for 100 cigars; may have been used for countertop display; wood with paper labels and trim; woodcut scene on top and front .Cigars produced by the JOSEPH F. McGREENERY Co., Boston. Very good condition - beautiful colorful artwork. Interior label perfect; side label perfect but applied slightly on angle; slight trim tears outside. Original liner paper on bottom inside. More photos available on request. About 6-3/4 inches x 5-3/4 inches.

Your Choice of Vintage Big Little Books - Flash Gordon and the Tournament of Mongo--binding is partially disconnected from top of spine, name in ink on first page.
Flash Gordon and the Witch Queen of Mongo has pencilled name and light scribble on inside cover.

Some Unusual Trade Cards - Williams Root Beer Trade Card (SOLD; Chicago Tribune Trade Card; and a nice Heinz's Celery Sauce Bottle Label (unused, but previously in a scrapbook).
Item #24. 1888 Old Judge Cigarettes Metamorphic Trade Card - SOLD
Very hard to find - Umbrella opens to show little boy being spanked because he didn't buy Old Judge. Corner missing; split by foot die cut where umbrella edge inserts. 4-1/2 inches x 7-1/4 inches opened. 
Item #25. 1940 Defend Your Country Woodburn Army Recruiting Poster - $75.00
U.S. Army Recruiting Service - with great Uncle Sam illustration by Tom Woodburn. Printed July 7, 1940. Approx. 9 inches x 12-1/2 inches. Minor top edge light bends, otherwise great color and condition.
Item #26. Unusual Trade Cards - $20.00 Each
Pan American Expo Trade Card advertises the 1901 Buffalo Fair and the numerous Fair attractions on the back. Produced by the Expo's Bureau of Publicity. Gem Folding Bed Trade Card shows the bed is like a Murphy bed; Parisian Sauce Trade Card promotes the brand as French Cooking seasoning. Die-cut Duck advertises rainwear (with illustration) on back for The Fair, a Chicago department store.
Item #27. Howe's Concentrated Syrup Patent Medicine Trade Card - $38.00
It promised to cure all kinds of ailments. A great example of patent medicine hyperbole. Have to wonder about the $500 "reward" if it fails. A few age discoloration spots on front, but overall nice.
Item #28. Foos Corn Grinder World's Fair Souvenir Trade Card; Morrell's Meats Bookmark - $25.00 Each
The Foos card was a World's Columbian Expo souvenir; the Morrell's Meats Bookmark is lightweight celluloid (I think) in nice condition.

This 1954 Pennsylvania Railroad Calendar has a partial calendar- showing November and December 1954 and January 1955. Illustration by Gif Teller. Great graphics, with original calendar rails and string. Will be shipped rolled in a tube. About 28 inches square.

Item #31. 1989 Bank Advertising Sci-Fi Spoof Poster - $48.00
Used to advertise new checking accounts as part of an award-winning marketing campaign--posters were used in branches (this one never used); from sample room in bank archive. First Chicago was originally The First National Bank of Chicago; eventually became Bank One and now Chase. Will be shipped rolled in a tube. 20 inches x 28 inches.

Just the lid, but very nice illustration of shoe shine boys hanging out and even fighting. Will look great framed. Paper label on wood. Small paper chip repair. Approx. 9 inches square.

Two different brands. No. 78 is High Admiral Cigarettes; No. 129 is Yellow Kid Cigarettes. Approx. 1-3/4-inch diameter. Nice condition.

Item #36. Art Deco Dralle Perfume Glass Bottle in Wood Case - $25.00
3-inch glass bottle with cut glass bird stopper top. Carved smooth wood case with screw-on top. Some label staining on outer box label but no visible damage or label on bottle inside (original labels on bottle and case). Lily of the Valley scent.

Item #39. Big Gun Oysters Trade Card - $45.00
An unusual Trade Card in the series for W. R. Barnes & Co., Baltimore - titled "Good By Sweetheart, Good By." It's in great condition, bright colors. Some glue residue on back from previously being in a scrapbook. 2-7/8 inches x 5 inches. 
Item #40. 1894 Theater Poster - Strobridge Litho - SOLD
This beautiful poster (printed stone litho by the Strobridge Lithography Co.) advertised the play "Darkest Russia" and was printed the same year the play debuted in NYC (1894). The plot is described by critics as "the story of a young Jewish girl in love with the son of a Russian aristocrat...a melodrama of the blood-curdling sort." The scene on the poster depicts the lovers being sentenced to exile in Siberia. Measures 27 inches x 37 inches. very nice condition. 
Item #41. News Agents' Magazine Posters - Holiday, Saturday Evening Post, Sports Afield, Coronet - $45.00 Each
Used to promote current issues of magazines at newsstands, bookstores, pharmacies, etc., in the 1930s - 1950s. Your choice of Holiday, Sports Afield, Coronet, or Saturday Evening Post. Dates are on the posters, all were saved by a news stand owner. Travel themes or Americana. All are about 22 inches x 28 inches. Some edge tears or dust smudging. Will be shipped rolled in a tube.
Item #42. 1892 Victorian Pear's Soap Poster- $48.00
With enough proofs of purchase, customers could acquire "Curiosity" by Italian artist Eugene von Blaas (1843 – 1931). Edge tear top and bottom, some paper missing left edge bottom. Pear's name at bottom right. 15-1/4" x 32". Will be shipped rolled in a tube. Great example of early sales promotion premiums and lithography.

Item #44. 1939 Bachelder's Service Stations Art Calendar, Athol, MA - $55.00
Titled "The Bluebird is home again," imprint is Bachelder's Service Stations, Athon, Mass. 1939. Illustration by Adelaide Hiebel, artist at Gerlach Barklow Co. in Joliet, Illinois (manufacturer of art calendars). Calendar pad complete. 21" x 46" Couple of minor bends, small edge tear. Will be shipped in a tube.
Item #45. 1888 W. Duke Sons & Co. Costumes of All Nations Album - SOLD
Excellent full color lithography of cigarette cards from the W. Duke Sons & Co. and wonderful illustrations (full page or half page) of some famous ladies of the day, incl. Lillian Russell, Mary Anderson and "Mrs. Langtry." One back cover corner missing, the other has a bend; a small split by front spine at bottom. Approx. 6-3/4 inches x 10-1/2 inches. Copyrighted 1888.
Item #46. World War I Liberty Loan Poster - Philadelphia Federal Reserve - $75.00
Promoted Liberty Bonds (“coupons” as in bond coupons). Production of this poster was limited to the Third Federal Reserve District, Philadelphia, so few remain. Nice WWI homefront propaganda. Black and white. Measures 22 inches x 28 inches; a few small edge tears.
Item #47. 1950 Drumstick Ice Cream Ad Banner - SOLD
Dated 1950 in bottom left border. Nice, colorful and long paper banner measures 10 inches x 40 inches. From a printing company archive. Great color and condition (has a couple of printer cut marks in ink in the border). Will be shipped rolled in a tube.
