2021 What's Poppin' Volume 2

The Fall Product Council Committee has been working hard to update all the information you will need to have the best Fall Product sale ever. If you have opened any of the links on the Council Website, you will see that last year’s information is still posted. The updated links will be posted very soon.

THANK YOU for making this sale a reality for the youth of your Troop, Pack or Crew. Your efforts help the youth of the Pennsylvania Dutch Council here in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties to have the best year of Scouting possible.

This newsletter is sent to your unit’s Kernel of record, that is whoever signed up your unit. If you have other members of your unit who would like to receive What’s Poppin’ contact Robin at Robin.Kotzmoyer@scouting.org.
This newsletter is our way to communicate key dates, reminders and important information regarding the sale, as well as helpful hints and suggestions that allow your unit to benefit from the sale.
Please make sure this Newsletter is not marked as junk, since there is very important, and time sensitive information shared through it.

If your unit has not already done so, please take a few minutes to register and make your commitment to the 2021 sale. To complete the 2021 registration and commitment, click here . If you have already registered in the Pecatonica River Popcorn system, please take a moment to complete this form to allow for a central location of additional information.

Remember that there is a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals to support you in your sale. If you have questions at any time, please don’t hesitate to contact any of us. The contact information for each of our key volunteers and professional staff advisors is below.

Thank you again for all that you do to make Scouting great in the Pennsylvania Dutch Council and have a great sale!

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?
What do your Scouts hope to do this coming year? Go to summer camp? Visit a zoo? Go to Philmont? Sleep on a battleship? If you can dream it, you can do it and selling Popcorn and Nuts can help.

At your unit planning conference did your unit determine your budget for the year? That is the first step. If you don’t know what you are going to spend, you don’t know what you need to raise. There is a program planning sheet available on the council website under the fall product fundraising section. It helps to show you what your unit needs might be, and how the fall sale can help offset annual operating costs.

To help you reach your goal make sure each Scout sets an individual goal. If your unit has chosen to use the incentive prize program, share with them the prizes to they can possibly earn. Encourage them to be enthusiastic about their goal, but be realistic as well. Make sure your parents understand this will help reduce their out-of-pocket expenses and even more importantly, how learning to help pay their way is an important part of a Scout being thrifty. One last note, units who set goals and have their youth set personal goals, even if they don’t reach them, wind up having better sales than units that do not. Good luck!

Scouts - a Life-Changing Program
The Scouting program teaches young men and women to be leaders. It teaches them to set goals, and to reach those goals. Support it through Popcorn and Nut sales.
SUPER SATURDAY!
Saturday; September 18, 2021

While we want you to encourage your Scouts throughout the whole sale, Pecatonica River Popcorn has provided an additional incentive for the Scout, in your unit, who sells the most product on Saturday; September 18, 2021. This would include Show & Sell, Take Order and Online sales. In your Fall Product sale tote, amid the marketing items and the order forms, you will find that prize, a thank you from Pecatonica River Popcorn for your support.
